Waitlisted. Really enjoyed seeing this school and getting the opportunity to interview!

Got waitlisted here. Is this one of those places where everyone gets waitlisted who interviewed?

also waitlisted this morning. I just did some browsing on last year's thread, and someone said it's 1/4 accept, 1/2 waitlist, and 1/4 reject post-interview.

Did anyone enter anything in the Comments section of the waitlist? Not sure what they're looking for there.

i just put a short thank you and re-iterated my interest in washu. i don't think they are looking for anything in particular!

Waitlisted! *sad trombone*

Looking at the others waitlisted, however, it seems I'm in good company!

Congrats to everyone that has been accepted!

I got an email about the waitlist, and then you are supposed to go to the status page and accept or decline the waitlist spot.
Thanks for the info. I was waitlisted as well unfortunately 🙁 ironically enough, the waitlist email was filtered into my spam folder by Gmail

Also waitlisted.

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using SDN Mobile

Waitlisted this morning- can't say I wasn't suprised after missing so many waves of acceptance updates!

Heyo, joining y'all on the wait list train!

Not shocked from a Feb interview. 😳

REJECTing the notion that anybody who interviewed gets rejected...

Mine went to spam too, just found it, waitlisted as well. :/ Did they waitlist everyone post-interview? Any rejections out there?

Same here. Thought my interview went really well too. *sigh*

Also joining the waitlist party!

P.s. congrats to those who have been accepted.

waitlisted. Does any current student know how many students are waitlisted? I would like to know my chance of getting in🙁

Nothing here, last batch of acceptances Friday night? But most likely rejection

We can't give you concrete numbers but in the past it's been what has been said. Of those students interviewed, 1/4 are accepted originally, 1/2 are waitlisted, and 1/4 are rejected.

As far as chances of being accepted off the waitlist, obviously not everyone on the waitlist is accepted, but there is definitely a chance. As far as I know, WashU has never published the number of waitlistees accepted, so I can only speak about what I've heard. However, I know of quite a few people in my class (current 3rd years) that were accepted off the waitlist. So it definitely happens.

Does anyone have an idea of the best way to go about writing a letter of intent/interest for WashU. Normally, you'd go directly through admissions, but are they looking for us to use the comments box as the primary mode of correspondence? Thanks, good luck to all!

Wait-listed here too, joining apparently a rather long train.

As for the question - I sent an update email earlier to their admissions email. They responded within a day or two to tell me that they had received it and would add it to my file. Hope that helps!

Does it mean that Wash U put 500 people on waitlist, but only accept ~50?

Wustl interviews around 1000 so 250 are accepted outright, 500 are wait listed, and 250 are rejected. Past data suggests they accept around 330 so I think 80 gets off the wait list.

Not sure what exactly you're getting at here. If you mean originally, WashU accepts enough people for a whole class (120) plus some originally. But since the people who get into WashU tend to get into other awesome schools, people will withdraw and open up new spots.

If you mean that they eventually accept 50 people from the waitlist of however many, yes that is more like the case. I agree that the waitlist is unnecessarily large, but that's how they do things.

Is the waitlist ranked? How does Wash U determine who gets off the waitlist?

Rejected via snail mail today. 🙁 I'm really sad, because I really liked Wash U.

Anyone get accepted last night/this morning?

Well that was awkward... withdrew from WashU on Friday and then got my rejection in the mail today!

Early May

Confidence in the accuracy of my answer: 50%.

95% confidence interval: last week of April to third week of May.

does anyone have specifics for WashU's match list from yesterday? it may still be too early for it to have been released

My more subjective impressions: About two-thirds matched into a program that's generally considered top tier (10-15) within that specialty or into a new ROAD (using the term liberally to include Rads, Rad Onc, Ophtho, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, Plastic (aesthetic?) surgery, Dermatology) specialty. About one-third matched into a program that's generally considered elite tier (top 1-5?) within that specialty or into a new ROAD specialty program. The relative risk for falling into one of these categories if one is AOA vs. non-AOA is around 2-3.
