Haven't received anything yet. According to SOLE we were supposed to receive it early May, so no idea if it will be out before the 15th.
 
Nope. It was letter in an envelope much like the one you receive for interviews.

Hey everyone! Could anyone familiar with the area offer some good places to live? I am OOS and not familiar with the area! I am looking for an individual studio or one bedroom close to the medical school (walking distance or biking distance would be great!). If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

Like I said a few pages ago, you may have a bit of trouble finding a place close to campus now as almost all of the leases run May to May. Of course you'll find something, just a heads up that you might not be your number one pick.

Here's some apartment complexes by the health science campus:
-Chestnut Hill Apts
-Georgetown
-Copperfield Ct
-Chateau Royale
-Rachel's Apts
...There are more, but I don't know their names. Hope this helps!

Sorry, I just decided on WVU yesterday, so I hadn't been following this forum much! But thanks for the help- I'm heading to WVU at the end of May to try to find an apartment and I'll check these out!

So aside from our own little poll of about 35 waitlisters.,,, does anyone have a more official number as to just how large the wait list really is?

I was looking at last year's thread to see when they got their financial aid packages yesterday and someone said there were 250 people on the year's waitlist. I have no idea where they got that number though.

I was told about 200 people when I asked a couple weeks ago.
 
If anyone's curious, I called the hsc financial aid office today asking when we'd receive our aid packages. On SOLE it says we would get them around May 15th. However, I was told today that they hoped to send something out by mid-June, and she really emphasized the word "hope". She said they were still waiting on some information about tuition and whatnot. Guess that means we'll be waiting a little while longer! I don't know why I'm so impatient to know how much debt to expect haha, but I am.

That sucks! I've been checking a lot too, I guess I'm just curious. I wonder what the big hold up is. Hopefully not a big increase or anything!
 
Sent in an update and Dr. Hazard replied. I want to believe so badly that that's a good sign.
 
Hi everyone! I formally declined my offer to WVU today.. so I hope it goes to someone on here who has been waiting! PS- I got assigned to Morgantown campus, so there are still spots available for that campus!
 
Either the waitlist is moving slower this year or people are not informing us.
 
it looks like on last years thread they were getting phone calls when they were pulled off the waitlist. is this true for this year or will we be informed by snail mail?

Sent email to withdraw my application off the wait-list today due to other acceptance. Good Luck everyone!
 
I got a letter in the mail when I was pulled from the wait list, but as it nears orientation, phone calls will probably be the means of communication.
 
So, I haven't gotten on before now but I have been following this thread for awhile, I was interviewed Jan 10th and waitlisted in March, just got an acceptance yesterday!! Go Mountaineers! Anybody know, besides the acceptance thread, if there is another place for Class of 2017 to communicate? Tried to find a facebook page and couldn't.

Best of luck to those who haven't gotten a letter yet. I'm from AZ with a few friends and teachers who went to WVU, so I would say weak ties at best. You still have a chance! Good thoughts!!
 
Annnd the page I thought was for MD acceptance is for Dental. Fail Now it would really be cool if there is something else. Looking for options in housing and such.

There's a Facebook group called WVU School of Medicine Class of 2017. You should be able to find it by searching.

Edit: forgot to mention there's lot of people looking for roommates on there so good luck!!

the admissions committee always meets on Tuesday, I'm hoping they help off on meeting till after may 15th so they would know how many places they had to fill. So maybe we will hear some good news tomorrow as it will be the first Tuesday after May 15th?
 
i was accepted some place IS. I will probably be withdrawing from WVUSOM soon. GL guys. I may see some of you in 4 years.

No news for me. Last year there were phone calls on 5/15 but what happened this year.

I know they don't reveal ranks. Do you think they will give hints on relative positions, such as good chance or no chance?

Also, when will they send that email that tells everyone they're still on the waitlist?

I called the admissions office last week and was told that most waitlist movement would have occurred already. It's moving, but no one wanted to inform us.

We can safely assume that our hopes of getting in are pretty much crushed. Maybe I'm wrong. This application cycle made me a lot more pessimistic.

Good luck to everyone who's waiting to hear from other schools and hope that I'm wrong.
 
Yea, the waitlist movement this cycle has been absolutely horrible. This post makes me very sad 🙁

I withdrew from the OOS waitlist a couple days ago. Perhaps that offers a glimmer of hope! One less person competing for your coveted spot.
 
I just called the admissions office asking about my status. They said I was under review again by the department but she couldn't tell my anything more about that (it was someone in another admissions office that told me this though).

Sheryl (sp?) couldn't tell me anything about my waitlist status. She did say that there is no movement right now.

Maybe the waitlist movement is over. I called Beth Ann last week and was told that most movement occurs 5/15-5/31. She also told me they were still reviewing files at that time.
 
Withdrew my acceptance a couple of days ago due to another acceptance! OOS, good luck everyone!

It was a little over $52,000 last year and the IS went up $2,000 so I'd guess around $54,000.
 
I just opened a letter from WVU late tonight. I was accepted. I was also accepted at another school two nights before and started making arrangements right away. Ahh, can't say I know which way I'll choose yet!
