One day after calling the Admissions office, my status changes from "under review" to "has been reviewed". Ahhh, what does it all mean 😕

Hey, quite a few applicants have been "under review" for much longer than that. Give it a little more time and in the meantime hang in there!Still under review since 9/27. As a DACA applicant, I really am blessed for Loyola's policy in accepting students like myself. If I gain an acceptance here, I will most definitely attend!
I wonder if any other DACA applicant is applying and has heard any good news? Please PM!
Good luck everyone!
Well, my first interview was very chill and conversational and went so well, I only had 10min to make it to the next one! He asked me why I wanted to be a doctor and then asked about my family, research, travels abroad, and most importantly, why Loyola!?
Second interviewer was more formal but still comfortable and he asked more challenging questions... He asked if Ive ever seen someone die and how would I handle it? My thoughts on the time committment and missing kids' birthdays and holidays, etc? He was big on my research and we discussed the importance of publication. What my family thought of my pursuit of medicine? Etc.
Key: Everyone from interviewer to adcom chair asked me why Loyola? Also, your file is closed for both interviews (but they both asked my MCAT score...), fyi.
What I liked best: The students seem genuinely happy and have more free time than I ever imagined a medstudent would have! Also, their curriculum is dynamic. They just started anatomy and tried a different curriculum and students were not happy, so they changed it the following week to accommodate their M1s. The gym is spectacular! Oh and puppy therapy every other friday!
Liked the least: Goes without saying, but the pricetag! Also, they make you sign pages saying you understand that its your responsibility to qualify for loans, otherwise, your SOL... and that's just disheartening. Also, there's people everywhere! Bc facilities are shared with the hospital and school of nursing, there's a lot of hustle and bustle and Im used to more quiet (but thats a personal opinion)... this also leads to major trafffic en route to Maywood.👎
Hope that helps 🙂 Best of luck!
Great post!! Have my interview tomorrow; Loyola's become a favorite of mine already so I really hope it goes well. Thanks for the tips! 🙂
Dear M1s,
Out of curiosity, have any of you purchased either the required or recommended textbooks for your courses? If not, why? If so, have they been useful?
Thanks!
can anyone comment on how many interviews and how long they were? were the interviews relaxed?

I think it depends on what day you interview (whether weekday or weekend) and who you do it with.
I interviewed on a Saturday (yesterday, actually) and had two 1hr interviews (both went over but were still supposed to be 50 mins each). Both were very conversational, but one was very much about my motivations for & interest in medicine (and about my personality in general) and the other was about a lot of my activities (answering brief questions about each) and ethical dilemmas in medicine (the ethical questions were by no means stressful, though--it was all very conversational and allowed me to direct the conversation and discuss my opinion).
Again, my interviews were very conversational & stress-free--but it was still kind of exhausting, doing hour-long interviews back to back (there's no break in between for Saturday interviews).
I think the interview format for weekday interviews is completely different, though (breaks and possibly shorter interviews) so disregard my post if you're interviewing on a weekday.
It implies you should be patient and they will get to you eventually 😀I've been complete since 8/19 and my application status is still "under review..." as opposed to "has been reviewed...". Anyone else in my boat?! And have any ideas what it implies?
to those that have been interviewed already and not received an acceptance call:
have you received any communication? mail, email?
thx
edit; i called. they sent out letters today so it should be coming nxt week. im sooooo bummed and sad bc i know its a waitlist/rejection. 🙁
Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail.
The alternate list = wait list at Loyola.
That's my status, I think someone said this is a hold, anyone know for sure? Afraid it's a rejection...
thats a hold, it could possibly turn into a rejection
Ah darn it. At least a hold is better than a rejection. That's what I get for applying late with low stats, oh well... It's beginning to look like I'll be reapplying next year.
does anyone have any info on an alternate list.
how many ppl are on it? earliest notifications? did anyone get a rejection or is everyone pretty much on waitlist until after may 15?
thx
T_T im gonna go to the corner and cry now.
Congrats! What day did you interview?Just got my acceptance letter in the mail! I was freaking out because I never received a phone call. For those of you in the same situation, there's no reason to count yourself out just yet!
Congrats! What day did you interview?
I was complete around that time too. Can anyone attest to this? Still says "under review"Has anyone complete after September 8 gotten interview invite?
i was complete late august and still "under review."

By the way, how receptive is Loyola to letters of update? I started clinical research and one of my papers got published after I submitted the secondary.
II for 1/8
Completed since early September.
So excited!
Same here! See you on the 8th 🙂
Congrats! When were you complete?
Fellow October interviewees.. Tomorrow is the day!!!! Ahhh!!!! ><
Last year, they called in the evening ... As late as 9pm cst.so................
anything?
Thanks andub, for some reason my notes said they'd call by 4pm CT and I don't quite remember what they said exactly.Nothing yet... I think we can expect to wait another couple hours. It seems calls go out around 6 pm CST.
This wait is agonizing. Its almost 6pm CT..Last year, they called in the evening ... As late as 9pm cst.
Since oct 15 landed on a tues, the adcom probably met the day before and we're able to call during business hours. I imagine they're meeting now and calling afterward...?
Alas, only a theory...
Hey y'all! I just got the call from Dean Jones. So excited. I loved the interview and I am thrilled to possibly be a part of the Loyola family.
