Has anyone heard from PRIME / know when they start interviewing?

Thanks J-lo. 🙂 Sounds like we should be hearing soon.

They've been sending IIs since Nov, so let's hope so!

Butttt, I'm pretty sure my app cycle is done, so I will not be heartbroken with whatever happens 😛

I received a supplemental invite for the Regular M.D. program in early October, but I haven't had the chance to complete it till now. At the time I received it and even when I checked a few weeks afterwards, there were no deadlines listed anywhere. I believe I read somewhere that the deadline to submit is Jan. 1st but better to submit earlier. I can't seem to find that stated anywhere anymore. I checked the app status page today and it says the online forms were due 11/21/2013 and I don't seem to have access to the supplemental or disadvantaged information forms anymore. Not sure what to do =/

MSAR lists the deadline as "within 45 days of request" so if the app page says it was due 11/21 then you probably got the invitation 10/7. Look back at the original email invite, does that sound about right? Sorry, looks like you missed the window. I didn't get a secondary here so I don't know for sure that the 45 day rule still applies for UCLA, but I did receiver other UC secondaries and they had a similar rule that was detailed in the email.

UCLA received my app on August 1st and I still haven't received a secondary (MCAT 32 (12,11,9) GPA 3.65). I was thinking about contacting them but I can't even find an e-mail address of who I should contact? Is it weird that I haven't received a secondary yet?

My roommate was complete in late August and by November was frustrated that he hadn't received a secondary despite having II at some other great programs (not saying that he think he deserved a secondary). Anyways, he emailed the admissions office asking about the status of his application and received a secondary 3 days later. This happened a few weeks ago. I would say, it doesn't hurt to try.

Who did he contact specifically? Was there an email address?

Just give them a call or shoot them an email (the email to send to is likely in your secondary invite email). UCLA seems very accommodating when it comes to extensions. I missed my deadline and gave them a call - the guy put me on hold for a bit then granted a 1 week extension on the spot.

Hey really urgent question! I interview this week and I forgot what my 25 minute interviewer's name was @_@ Any chance someone on the forum remembers what the British/English guy's name was? I think he a PhD too. Older gentleman.

THANK YOU!

I'm not sure if the person you are referring to is the same person I have spoken with on the phone in the admissions office, but I spoke with a man named Ian Cowan. Not sure if that rings any bells for ya. Good luck!

He is a member of the admissions committee!

That's a vague description of the individual.

I too am bummed that I lost my interviewers contact information (I left the sticky on my clipboard!).

Worth a shot - For anyone who interviewed this year, do you know the name of the younger woman, who grew up in SoCal, and did undergrad and residency at UCLA? Please PM me if you do!

While we're at it, does anybody remember the name of the man wearing black spectacles, average height? He spoke with an American accent.

You guys realize as long as you know the specialty of the doctor you can just go on the faculty page and look at pictures to figure out who it was, right?

@Juan Solo , cmon, what are the odds that an admissions office at any US medical school school would have more than ONE elder, gentlemanly, englishman working in their admissions office/admissions committee...

....besides, seems like I hit the nail on the head as far as @Iatro was concerned lol

I wish I could help, but I'm so terrible with the names.Good thing that my interviewer told me that he was an anesthesiologist, so I found him on faculty directory.Good luck!

Hey Juan, I should add that I believe his last name was Hall. And I am 100% sure it is not the radiologist Dr. Hall. Haha by any chance do you know of another Dr. Hall on the ADCOM?

I second this.

Is all this about sending thank you letters? Not that I am downplaying the importance of courtesy or anything, but are we sure the interviewers even WANT one?

Interview invite for UCLA PRIME last night!
Wow that's great congrats!! Such an amazing program! I am hoping for an II but I'm not sure how much longer they are sending them out :/ Thanks for sharing... I've been waiting to hear from a PRIME applicant. Good luck on the interview! 🙂

They will have interviews until March! Just interviewed there.

is the general consensus that ucla is essentially non-rolling admissions? (since they interview until march and also release acceptance news in march)
then is there any real advantage to interviewing early here?

Regardless of interview date everyone has a fear chance!

PRIME only has 3 interview dates. January 11th, 12, and some other day in February. I had two friends who recently got an interview invite last friday. I'm still waiting 🙁

wow so I was complete in september and finally just received a secondary app invitation. would it be wayyy too late to complete the secondary now?

same! what in the world?? i had given up on this school months ago. I think UCLA is non-rolling (?) so we still have an ok chance at getting an interview

thanks for the reply, but i don't really feel the question was answered. i understand that everyone has a fair chance, but is there any fair-er chance if you interview earlier?

Since there are supposedly interview dates after the first wave of decisions comes out in Feb/Mar, you have a better chance if you interview before that time vs after, since there will be more available seats. Within the Sept-Dec (or maybe even Jan/Feb) window, everyone is the same regardless of how much earlier you interviewed.

Chances: Sept interview = December interview; pre- 1st wave of decision interviews > post- 1st decisions.
Least thats the way I see it.

Was there anything the school said with regards to this on interview day?

Same - have been complete since end of August. I was thinking silent rejection from the moment I turned in my last secondary app at other schools. And it very well might be, but this gives me a small glimpse of hope.
