According to the admissions office they are still giving out interviews. At least that's what they told me yesterday.

For financial aid at UMD, we only have to fill out our fafsa, correct?
 
Anyone else receive news about merit scholarships? Also, any accepted students looking to visit Maryland again before May 15? I wish they had a second look weekend (or day).

Hey everyone! Does anyone know what movement on the waitlist is like? I sent in a letter of interest after I was placed on pre-interview hold. Now, I just received a letter for the Waitlist yesterday! Wasn't sure if in the past there were a lot of people who were accepted after being waitlisted, or when the best time to send another letter would be.

Hey Jan84. Would you mind sharing when you interviewed? I don't think it would hurt to send another Loi in April. Especially if you have updates.

Hey! I interviewed February 12! Just heard back on Thursday. I'm doing the same thing as I was when I first applied, but I think I will send another letter in April or sometime towards the end of march! Thanks 🙂

I actually had my interview on feb 12 as well. I haven't heard anything from them. Did you get a response in the mail?

I had a friend two years ago who got off the waiting list in May. I think it depends on the year. Some years there is more movement. GL

It's probably a good thing that you haven't heard anything! Don't worry about it!! And thanks, hoping there's tons of movement haha
 
Pre-interview rejection received in the mail today. Placed on hold Nov. 22nd. GL to the rest of you!! Hope ya'll have had a great cycle.
 
@Seifu2011 and @ekdoctobe - Sorry to hear that-- does your portal reflect any changes or does it say something like "Hold" or " Under Review"?
 
Agreed.

With as much effort as I can muster not to sound bitter, this entire process, sadly, does not seem to be particularly interested in respect for the applicant.

Called the Admissions Office yesterday and they said "we should all know very soon" regarding if you haven't heard back about an interview (aka waiting for an interview) (supposedly still handing a few out). So if you haven't heard keep hope alive!
 
Had an awesome interview last Monday, loved the school! During our admissions presentation it was said that interviews would continue to come out through the end of March and possibly into April because of the snow days.
 
Does UMD have official match results? I can't seem to find them...
 
Does Maryland get back to you on rejection/acceptance post-interview via snail mail? No status change or update online?

by snail mail, yes.
My status is still the same as it was when I got my interview.

No I did. But I'm saying since I got my interview, nothing has changed. post-interview decision came by mail and is not reflected online

Def do

I was surprised how good UMD's match list was, a couple very high tier spots. Northwestern is mighty hard to turn down though...

They handed em out during the interview

They had some great plastic matches, few derms, and a HSS ortho match. Very solid, with a good step 1 you can go anywhere from here

My interview was yesterday and I absolutely loved it here!

The match list was much more impressive than I had imagined.

Thanks. I wonder how long they'll continue to give out interviews... this wait is real.
 
Does anyone remember from the packet they gave us what their average step 1 score is?
 
Sorry to beat a dead horse but any word/confirmation of interviews going into April--- don't want to keep pestering the admissions office.
