Nope. All my hopes are riding on Miller ... Which, coincidentally, is my top choice.
I really hope you get in then!!! Crossing my fingers for you!

Thank you. I really, really appreciate that sentiment. Wish you the best of luck next Fall!I really hope you get in then!!! Crossing my fingers for you!
My hair grows white as I'm waiting tonightEvery night before bed I sing Frozen's "Let it Go" to myself as a reminder that I should stop expecting good news.
My interviewer told me (close to) 7 months ago that I am guaranteed to get accepted here and that I should anticipate scholarships yada yada. 7 months later I am still waiting for a call. Just goes to show how unpredictable admissions is and to take what interviewers say with a grain of salt cause some people's words may not have as much weight as others during those adcoms meetings.

Hi DrZeke,It is unfortunate that your interviewer said this. While the interview is an important part of your application it is not the only thing that matters.
Hi DrZeke,
Given your experience with the admissions process at Miller, what would you say the chances are for someone who's still on the wait list?
Thanks for the info!A few acceptances will probably go out based on people getting off waitlist at places they rather go to over UM. However, I think you should have a plan B in place and coming up with ways to strengthen your app if you have no other acceptances.
Hi everyone, I’m a long-time lurker here on SDN. This is my first post.
I’m on the alternate list here at UM and I’m trying to figure out what the chances are of being accepted at this point.
For anyone who is currently holding a seat at UM, are you (or anybody that you know of who doesn’t post on SDN) planning on or thinking about withdrawing from your seat at UM? (For example, if you’ve been accepted elsewhere and are planning on going there.)
If you don’t feel comfortable publicly posting, please private message me. I’m just trying to figure out how many more seats may become available. Knowing any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance and best of luck to everyone! Go Canes!
Hi everyone- rising MS4 here. Congrats to all who have been accepted- any of y'all have any questions about MS1 year? Feel free to post here/PM. I'm on vacation for two weeks- I'll try and answer as many questions as I can.
Hi Nivens....you answered my post in the class of 2014 thread but I thought I'd follow up here with it...
Thanks for responding, by the way!
How big of an impact do you think the quartile ranking made in your or your classmates' residency options? You stated that you could have an A average and be in the 3rd or 4th quartile, but would that have a huge impact if you did well on step 1, had solid LORs, interviews, etc?
Basically, I'm just trying to sort out how this whole things works without any kind individual performance marker (like a GPA). You get this quartile ranking which is a comparison to your classmates but what does it really mean?

Having matched into a competitive specialty I found that step 1, letters and 3rd year commentary from evals mattered a lot more than grades.
So I finally got this status "Your application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. At this time, a final decision has not been reached on your application." like..a week ago maybe after being under review/complete since early September. Is that a silent rejection? Sorry I haven't really read this thread that much.
I'm sorry but I didn't end up getting one, but I don't know if that happened to everyone!hey! im in the current application cycle and have the same status, do you mind sharing whether or not you ended up receiving a II? i really dont know what this means :/
Complete early August and still under review. Anyone else on the same boat? What does it mean if this status hasn't changed for such a long time?
3 years...must be one huge pileSame here. It's possible that they have a large application pile
