2014-2015 Drexel University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I recently interviewed and my current status reads: "Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University." Does this status mean post-interview deliberation is occurring or is it a general default status?

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing it means that the person who interviewed you hasn't done their evaluation yet.

I would not worry about any of those post interview statuses. The only post interview status that really means anything is "A decision has been reached".

There could be many different reasons why your application is delayed and there could be many reasons why your application hasn't gone to committee yet. Either case, a decision hasn't been made yet, so don't read too much into it.

On the paperwork to accept your seat at DUCOM- SSN on the Curricular and Clinical Options page refers to Social Security Number right? Thank you!

Okay, if we are "complete and will be reviewed" status at this point in time pre-interview, is this considered a hold too?? Been at that status since mid-September

I would take it to mean that they have not yet reviewed your app. The hold status actually states that your app has been reviewed and they have chosen not to invite you for an interview at this time and your app will be re-reviewed in the Spring should interview spots remain etc...

on hold..anyone know if its possible to get an II from hold status? I thinks its highly unlikely...

I'm not sure how common it is, but I was on hold in early September and got an II last week! If I can do it, you likely can too!
Thanks for the positive! I am staying hopeful here, complete late Sept! I would LOVE an II from Drexel!

Just got the rejection letter, interviewed 9/30..ahh well

Do you mind sharing what your status said before you received the letter? Or has the distinction between "decision has been reached" and "final decision" been settled?

Got the reached decision notification 2 Friday's ago and still no letter.... how long did it take other people?

Hey guys it could be worse. In Texas we have the match process. I interviewed at some schools back in August and have to wait until the match in February to find out...... so there's that.

I was complete in August and I haven't been reviewed once. It is quite frustrating. I wish I could just ask for my $100 back and call it even.

I feel your pain. I submitted everything in August, but noticed that I was still "incomplete" in mid September. When I called admissions, this peeved rep was like "be patient we need to manually enter in your LORs and stuff" in a really aggressive tone. After noticing that I was still incomplete in October, I gave admissions another call. Fortunately, a really nice rep answered and was more than happy to check. Turns out there was an error and she said my app was supposed to be complete ages ago, and that it was now ready for review. This prompted me to face palm, but I was so happy and grateful when she said this, knowing my $100 would finally be put to good use haha. Oh boy I expect to be on the "waiting to be reviewed status" for a long time now.

Interviewed 10/8. Got a reach a decision two weeks ago and a rejection letter on Monday. Not surprised I had a terrible student interview. Good luck to the rest of you guys.

Hello,

I am new to this forum, and I am sure my question has probably been discussed, and so I apologize in advance for the repeat.

However, I interviewed here on 10/21 and my status still reads, "Your interview has been scheduled. If you've already appeared for the interview, your file will now progress through our Admissions Committee process. Please watch for updates and allow 8 weeks for a decision."

I know it has only been 5 weeks since my interview, but am worried since I haven't even received the status that I have progressed and am being reviewed by admissions.

Should I call admissions and see what's up, or just wait it out? How long have other people waited since interviewing for there status to change from the one I have?

umm. idk, everyone's timeline to reach committee is different. i interviewed the same week as yu and ive been at ' currently being reviewed by committee' for about 2-3 weeks now

Rejected today. Interviewed 9/24. Good luck to those still in the running. 🙂

Hey guys! I have an interview here on Jan. 6th, which is a little far away from now. Do you think it would be worth it to call and ask if there are earlier dates that have opened up? I'm not sure how much my later interview date will hinder my chances here.

Does anyone know if Drexel is receptive to in-the-area emails? I interview at another school in the area in a few weeks and would like to cut down on travel expenses, if I can. Don't want to bother them if an in-the-area email will look bad, though.

I don't see how it can make you look bad, especially if you are interviewing at a competitive school. It makes you seem more desirable IMO.

It's crazy that they are already interviewing into January but my status stays my application hasn't even been reviewed yet. What do I do? I've been complete since early September...

I think you're right, wouldn't hurt to try. The only thing is, it seems like they are into January dates so if my interview is in three weeks at the other school it may be too short notice. Hmm

I'm in the exact same boat brosef. As for the scheduling in January, don't forget the holidays are here and that puts delays in scheduling - unless we are being interviewed by robots (you never quite know)...

Been complete since 8/29 and haven't been reviewed. Pretty sure I've just been forgotten by now.
