2014-2015 Drexel University Application Thread

Complete 8/29 and I was put on hold, I think. Not offered an interview at this time but will be reviewed in the spring.

Like some posters above have said, I think the late August apps (the "and complete" status ones) are finally getting some action! Just checked for maybe the first time in a week and see that I've been invited for an interview!

Complete: 8/26
~70 Lizzy M, OOS applicant, average ECs

II this morning! Complete early September. LizzyM 65-70. Leadership ECs, significant clinical experiences and tons of research.

EDIT: I have no idea when the II was sent. I check all my portal accounts on a weekly basis, and the II was there!

just getting up to August-September I guess. too bad they didn't send me the secondary until October lol
Well they did get through some Sept and October completion dates. The late August people have been notoriously ignored, so they def weren't going in a strict order. You might get news soon!

Complete 9/2. II 10/24. Accepted 11/28.

That's awesome! I think this goes to show how random this process is as some folks are still in 'interview" status who interviewed much earlier. I interviewed 10/23 and am hoping to hear back soon!

For the curricular and clinical form for accepted students, of you do ifm, you don't have to fill out anything or call anyone correct? Also if you do not want to have an all year clinical rotation at one site, you don't choose any of the five option available?

That's correct.

Have been complete since 9/15, still "Your file is and complete and will be reviewed." It's a shame, I would love to go here
+1 I was complete around 9/20 and have same status... there's still hope, at least until the "up to 3 months" period they mentioned in their completion email is over.

Same. Was just in Phil for the holidays and saw the school. Very nice. Complete 9/22

If your going to Drexel and from the philly area please message me

This is definitely a matter of pure speculation, but out of curiosity do you guys feel that a fast turnaround time for interview/"decision reached" is a good thing or a bad thing? I'm talking approximately 3 weeks...

Edit: assuming the interview wasn't a disaster

I think it all depend on your interviewer! My acceptance letter was dated only 16 days after my interview date, so I heard back within 3 weeks.

Thanks and congrats!! I think I'm just getting super neurotic waiting for this letter to show up lol...

Basically MRW the mailman comes by nowadays

For those who have interviewed any idea on how long it took for a final decision to be made once your status changed to "Your file is currently under review by the admissions committee."?

Mine took about three weeks, but I think some people have waited longer or had faster turnaround times. Looks like there's no way to know what to expect

Does anyone know how to get to Drexel via public transportation or would I have to take a cab? The campus looks like it's on the outskirts of Philly. Thanks!

Got the letter earlier today...ACCEPTED ASKDJNASIDCNASICNASCASBUCIUASLF OMG

I interviewed the first week of November!

Congrats!!

I interviewed the last week of October and my file still has not been sent to admissions, it's just sitting around =( Have a bad feeling I'm a rejection

Thank you!!! That's so strange that your interviewer hasn't sent your file along by now...I would suggest calling but I feel like that wouldn't do much...I'm hoping you hear good news soon!

Yeah I hope so too! I called admissions today to see if maybe they could tell me more, but the lady I spoke to said that my file is still not with the committee to be reviewed and she did not know how long it would take to get there, unfortunately.

i interviewed a month before you and my file also has not been sent to committee yet. i called and they had said it's no indication of whether you will be accepted or rejected, so i wouldn't come to any conclusions until you actually hear back!

edit: oops, meant to reply to @premedgirl24 's post!

Hold until Spring. aka rejection 😀

Edit: What are the odds that IIs go out to Spring hold applicants?

oh wow, you've been waiting way longer than I have. I probably should not be complaining lol! But you're right, I'm just so impatient and the wait is killing me!! Good luck to you!

thanks, you too! and trust me, i've had my fair share of being impatient 😉 but decided its not worth it to stress, it is what it is at this point!

Septa rail has a station a block away from Drexel. If you search for SEPTA regional rail you'll be able to get the time schedule from the site. I'd recommend you going a bit early in case of any delays if you decide to stay in center city.

Chestnut hill west - Queen lane stop

where do people study at drexel since the library is so small?

Did you guys pass by the study lounge? There is a quiet study lounge and there are a few rooms in the back where you can study at. The PIL rooms upstairs are also used to study in when they aren't used. The computer lab has a bunch of little cubicles. If you like the microanatomy lab, you can go in and sit and study there as well.
