2014-2015 Drexel University Application Thread

Seems like a good time for "Serenity Now." This process is about them; not us. we should remember that Drexel gets flooded with applicants that skip on them for other schools. They uniquely appear to have a strategy for combating wasting their time on people who look to Drexel as a safety net. Namely, wait until II's and offers are really in gear for higher ranked schools and also make the secondary a bit of an administrative effort.

Seems to me we should applaud any school that lets thing settle on our side our before asking us for our money and time. Med school is still ten moths out or so, I'd be happy to get the secondary in December. Good luck to all.
 
Does Drexel wait for letters before sending out secondaries? My committee is dragging their feet with my letter, but I've been verified since 7/28 and nothing...
 
Finally got a secondary this morning. AMCAS was complete on 6/16. What a crazy long wait.

This literally will affect the school in no way. All that does is harm your chances.

I don't understand why people are taking an "I'm going to punish Drexel for their somewhat troublesome secondary by not submitting right away/at all! That'll show 'em!" approach.

I have 2 interviews coming up. Prepping for those comes first at this point in the cycle.

Good luck on your interviews!! on the flip side, the secondary is wonderful in that it only takes 20-30 min so maybe take a short break from prepping and just get it done!!

Congrats on the interviews, Ace! Like Ruby said though, the secondary is actually really quick! Waiting until a less prime hour of the day allows for quick submission too. I was just trying to make a point that if you plan to submit and pay for the secondary, it really makes more sense to submit sooner rather than later.
 
Still need a secondary.... Maybe if I post here I will finally get mine tomorrow too!? 🙂
 
Does the school send "complete emails"??
 
verified early june, no secondary
 
just got marked complete today with NO email. Submitted on 8/31.
 
Still no secondary called a bunch of times... verified 6/9 .. Can some one who has recently scheduled their interview tell me how full it is already? Like are there even interviews in october anymore?

I know they interview over like 1,000 people so its all well and good.

I still don't either, but my primary was verified on 08/11.

there were a ton of dates when i scheduled mine. it looks like they interview every day of the week unlike a lot of other schools!

Just schedule mine today and it seems like there are still plenty of spots available on pretty much every day of the week for the months of September and October.
 
Finally got the secondary. Verified in early june for those who are curious....

BUT the site is down for maintenance sooooo...
 
Complete 8/29, so hopefully I will hear something within the next month.
 
Submitted a week and a half ago and the payment area is still blank when checking my status. But I have the receipt...anyone else have this issue?

The same thing happened to me! My status said complete but it also said I hadn't paid, so I emailed them and two weeks later they got back to me saying everything was good.

I did yesterday. Lady there just said to wait and that secondary apps come out in batches. She said it will just keep going like that.
 
After waiting so long for the secondary, I was pleasantly surprised at the rest of the process. I was able to submit it with no problems, and got the complete email about an hour later. I guess there is a method to their madness.
