Interviewed on Oct. 13th and status still says "Interview has been scheduled...." How long does it take before the initial status change?

It took about two weeks after my interview before that status changed to under review by the committee.

It sounds like your interviewer has not submitted his/her recommendation to the committee yet. My status changed the same day I interviewed to "your file is currently with a member of the admissions committee and will soon be sent to the committee" or something like that..

Interviewed 9/18 and FINALLY got a status change at some point today: "Your file is currently under review by the admissions committee. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel of University." Not sure how much longer it'll be to get that decision, but progress at least!
 
For those who have interviewed, is the optional Q & A session actually optional? Will it count against me that I had to leave early?

I just called the admissions office to ask about my app status and to mention that I hadn't received a complete email. The woman on the phone said that the office doesn't send complete emails..

Also, I asked when apps submitted in August should expect to hear back. She said that there is no expected time and that the office simply "checks applications periodically."

I applied mid august and received a secondary on sept 29 and complete email on october 2nd. The wait is nutso.
 
Question - You know the bottom of the WL letter where you send the slip back, is that supposed to be our AAMC ID in brackets under our name? Because that definitely isn't my AAMC ID so I was wondering if maybe it was an internal ID or if they accidentally put someone else's AAMC ID.

That's probably your Drexel ID, the one you use to sign into the online portal?
 
Has anyone heard of any previous applicant receiving the hold until spring before an II status, and actually getting an II later in the cycle? Or is this pretty much a death sentence... I can't imagine with all the applications that they get, they would actually have available interview spots later on in the cycle.

Yeah I doubt it. I was put on hold last year and it turned into a rejection sometime in spring. I'm sure there are exceptions, but they are very rare.
 
Complete august 22. No news. Does Drexel straight reject anyone or puts them on hold?
 
Anyone who interviewed in early September still have the "your file is currently under review" status? Wondering when mine will change :/
 
Placed on hold today, per status update on the portal. I was complete 9/22.
 
Hold today. Complete 9/30. LizzyM 71. First hold/rejection of the season. Starting to really panic now. I only have 2 MD ii and I interviewed horribly at one of those two today. Ugh, not the news I was looking for.
 
Interviewed early in September. Portal status still says under review by admissions committee and no decision has been made. I called admissions yesterday to check on my status and was told the same thing; a decision has not yet been made. I have not read that anyone has reported an acceptance thus far. Maybe they are holding off on acceptances?
 
I have two questions I feel like I have to ask because of my paranoia about computers and these automatic forms (But hey, that mistrust helped me figure out that 2/35 applications didn't submit properly).

1. Is people's login ID for Drexel the same as their AMCAS ID? I'm asking because mine is slightly different from my AMCAS ID by only a couple digits. This is very strange to me.

2. If you are under review still, what does it say so on your status page? Is there a typo with an "and" where it shouldn't be?

1. My login ID was different than my AMCAS ID by more than a couple digits, but I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to be the same.

2. I'm not under review anymore for an interview, but when I was, I remember having the extra "and" in there.

How do med students like drexel?

Does the fact that there are so many neighboring medical schools impact your experience?
 
For anyone that was placed on the wait list, do you know if we mail in the same document that they sent us with our signature on it to either accept or decline the wait list offer? Or are they anticipating us to actually have a written statement explicitly saying we accept or decline? Sorry for the stupid question haha don't want to make a mess out of something that I think is supposed to be simple...
 
I wonder why they are waitlisting everyone? Why have they not accepted anyone yet.

According to posts on this thread there have been "final decisions" so that's either acceptance or rejection.

I think it just takes forever for postal mails to arrive and that's why no one knows if he or she has been accepted yet.

Does that definitely mean waitlisted?🙁
 
Deep down I am hoping that the whole decision vs final decision doesn't apply this year but it seems like it does...Not sure why so many waitlists and no acceptances so far
