I really hope its sooner! They actually told everyone my interview day that it would be 8-10 weeks
 
Hi all to those who have gotten second look tabs:

I got the second look tab yesterday. I re-logged in three times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I accepted the day they gave me (I think it was April 26th or something?). Today I logged in and the second look tab is gone... I am flipping out. Do you think they made a mistake and didn't actually accept me? Or did other people's second look tab go away when they confirmed?
Please help... I have the worst luck in the world.

Mine also disappeared. They either removed it because the date was wrong or because they don't want to give students clues before they get the acceptance in the mail. I doubt the acceptances were the result of. a mass error. At least I hope not...

Mine disappeared as well. I really hope that it is because they're changing 2014 to 2015. It looks like it took a little while for TxC to receive the acceptance in the mail from when the tab was first noticed. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed for everyone!

There are several committees meeting several times a month. However you have to consider that there are sometimes over 40 people interviewing in a week so there could be a backlog. At it's worse it could even go up to 10-12 weeks but that's usually rare.

I was told around 6-9 weeks, give or take a couple.
 
Random question. When you uploaded a picture pre-interview, did it show up. It said it uploaded but no picture showed up. Not sure this is a big deal though.

Mine did show up. Maybe try logging out and logging back in or refreshing the page.

Do you happen to know the file format you did it in? I have an interview tomorrow so I'm kind of kicking myself for doing this last minute. Thanks.

Just go for Nov. Doesn't the email say to schedule a date within 5 weeks of when the email was sent?

Also, I think most people would say that earlier interviews are generally better.

The email says within 6 weeks, but since it gives the other options I figured those would be okay as well. I could be wrong
 
if i put down a deposit, i can still put down deposits at other schools right?
 
Maybe I just got different interviewers than everyone else, but I did get ethical questions (i.e. the ACA, questions about the woman who just used physician assisted suicide and my thoughts on it). One interview was extremely laid back and one was very formal (no small talk, just very formal q&a about my application and again my opinion on the ACA). Overall it was a great day though. From talking to people it seemed that PhD faculty tend to be interviewers for the 8 am slot and physicians interview for the afternoon interviews more. Great school though and everyone was super nice! Has anyone gotten answers faster than 6-8 weeks?

thanks! just to clarify, after 4/30/2015, the deposit is nonrefundable. if you wanted to remain on the waitlist of some other school, can you still keep your spot? vaguely heard about how this works
 
Just got the post interview "hold list" email. Is this synonymous with wait list?

Not a rejection but this definitely stings a different way

+1. Interviewed 9/17.

I got accepted at another school on 10/15 that I would not have been surprised to be rejected from and I was honestly expecting to get accepted at Penn State and ended up getting wait listed. Guess that goes to show you really can't tell based on your perception of how the interviews went and you really have no way of knowing what the ADCOMs are thinking. Oh well. Congrats to everyone who's been accepted to Penn State! Seemed like a great school!

So the idea is their "hold list" is their version of waitlist? Or could someone on hold be given a "waitlist" decision versus rejection or acceptance?

The way they made it sound in the email, you could be taken off the hold list before April 30th but if you aren't you'll remain on the hold list until they give you an acceptance or a rejection. Looks like it's a combination of a hold list and a wait list.
 
So I interview here on 11/19, if my interview day is supposed to end at 2 PM, is there enough time to catch a flight in Baltimore leaving at 7 PM ? Baltimore is around 2 hrs drive I think...Anyone from this area that knows the traffic/construction situation? Thanks!

Yeah. You should be fine. Baltimore is about an hr and a half away. With traffic, 2.5 max.

Saw the tab late Wednesday/Early Thursday (10/15 and 10/16).

Acceptance letter sent out 10/22 and received 10/24.

I live really close to Hershey (2 hours away).
 
Has anybody who interviewed on 9/19 or later heard anything yet?
 
Did anyone have the second look tab, submit their response, and now it is gone, along with the "additional information" tab? Not sure what happened...I have already submitted my deposit as well.

No one has those tabs now.

Not sure why they were taken away.

I already sent in my deposit too.

And got a confirmation email.

You're fine. Congrats BTW.
