i am interviewing here this week! does anyone know post interview acceptance rate? thanks!

Totally depends on the application pool and when you get interviewed. Early applications usually have a higher chance of acceptance than later ones. But again the process depends on a lot of factors (life story, scores, experiences, ...)

Hey guys! Has anybody scheduled an interview for January? I got an interview for December but flight tickets are expensive and I was hoping to reschedule to sometime in January. I just wanted to know if they have started scheduling for January yet. Also...it is better to arrive to Harrisburg, correct? That is the closest airport?

Harrisburg is definitely the closest (only about 15 min away from the med center) but flights there will likely be more expensive. Your next best options would be BWI or Philadelphia. From Philly, it would be possible to take Amtrak to Harrisburg. Best of luck and enjoy your day in Hershey!

I stayed there two weeks ago, when I got there they told me that there was a discount for visiting Penn State (~$84 / night), just want to make sure you knew about this deal! Unfortunately, they did not give me the cheaper rate when I checked in.

Hmmm I always reach someone when I call. I've called several times.

I think most people don't get complete emails. I never got one and already have a Penn State acceptance.

My interview was def NOT low stress. One of my interviewers was very unpleasant (and sadly that def affected my overall experience 👎). So be prepared for anything, and def look at the interview feedback page to get an idea of the type of questions they might ask.

Positives:
-Great facilities
-Nice integrated curriculum
- Required Research

Negatives:
-Harrisburg is not exciting. It is a rural area.
-Lack of diversity (huge for me)
-I have seen friendlier schools
-Not the best post-interview acceptance rate for OOS students (I was told by one of the students who attends there. Check MSAR as well)

Overall the school was decent. In my case, this school was closest to home so that was a big factor I had to take into consideration. I was put on the hold list after ~7 weeks. However, after much thought, I feel I will be happier (better fit) at the schools that accepted me and that are further away from home. So, I will be withdrawing.

Congrats on your acceptance to Creighton! It is a great School! Good Luck!!

Nope nothing on my end. Wondering when exactly we will hear back. They told me 6-8 weeks.

just be patient. I say don't expect anything until early december. The admissions staff mentioned that don't be surprised if you don't back until 10 weeks post interview

That sounds like good news! I think they told me at my interview date that they only mail acceptances. If so, congrats!!

Is the "second look" tab something that every person who is accepted sees on their secondary portal? When does it appear, how long does it stay up and why does it vanish from the portal, exactly ? i also interviewed in october and am getting nervous since I never even got a glimpse of this tab. thanks alot!

The second look tab was something that used to show up in the portal of students who had been accepted. It no longer displays on anybody's portal, accepted or otherwise, so I'm guessing it vanished from the portals that had it because penn state realized it was happening and did not want to have it there at this time.

If you interviewed in October, you most likely have a few more weeks to hear back from Pennsylvania State. The school normally takes 8-10 weeks to release post-interview decisions. At this time all you can do is wait.

Just relax for now because not having seen the tab does not mean you will get rejected. Good luck 🙂

I am probably not going to hear from them until Jan 2015 (interviewed in Nov) . If I got accepted I would definitely go here, my only other choice is a couple DO schools that I have been accepted to. The dumb thing is that the deposits for the DO schools are due mid Dec. Do you think I could call Penn State the day before they are due and ask them if they can tell me if a decision has been made?

You are fine! Some people receive the complete email, some do not. I personally did not receive the complete email either so no worries!

As a friend told me, an acceptance would be the coolest gift ever, but even if we're rejected we'll have the holidays to lift our spirits! Good luck to everyone 🙂

It would be great to hear back by then. I was hoping it would be a bit earlier. I interviewed in the week of October 13. I thought it would be around the first week of December or so

Yep! Interviewed 9/22 and haven't heard back though I'm expecting a post-interview hold at this point.
