2014-2015 Temple University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For those who have interviewed recently, did they tell you how full the class was so far? Do you know if they plan on sending out anymore interview invites? Haven't heard anything from here since being complete in the summer.

+1 and I even sent them 2 updates....

Interview invite today.......after half a year of silence 😱
Lol I sent 2 updates and they're not showing me any love. I'm slowly losing interest. Are you gonna go?

I am withdrawing--feel a little guilty that I didn't earlier but I thought my remaining schools were silent rejections and was a little lazy to email individually.

Hope they give the interview space to you! 😉 Love Temple's mission and overall focus.

Nothing wrong with that. I'm the type of person to stay in the game until it's officially over, but I understand your case. Also, you got into your really good state school, right? No need for you to go somewhere else way more expensive lol.

So their website says that applications are continuously reviewed THROUGH March and then if at that point you still aren't granted an interview you will be notified. Does that mean they will still be offering II's around March time? And if so, at this point would a lot of us just be interviewing for a wait list position?

Last two years NO movement on wait list, yet they make it like you won the lottery in the letter. Congratulations indeed. Oh well.

Theres still about 20-30 spots open I believe.

Still hoping for an interview. Sent in two updates already 🙁

You received an II with that submission date?? Well I'm boned....

Congrats though.

Haha thanks. I sumbitted all my secondaries in January and have still recieved several interviews. I guess you could say its never too late...? 😉

No, it just means you're a rare exception/outlier. We all know the statistics. Submitting early is better than super late. It's nice you got interviews after submitting late, but definitely keep in mind that this isn't true for the majority of applicants.

Yeah I thought it would be super fun to go experience a different place, but after traveling I realized that my hometown is quite lovely

Recieved an interview invite today! Very surprising since I submitted my secondary on Jan. 15th, but 20-30 spots left? There may still be hope!
Whoa, Jan 15?! How many schools did you get interviews from? I guess the rest of us have little hope left. 😕

I just got an interview invite. available dates 2/10 and 2/17. I just came back from philly, not sure if I wanna spend money on another plane ticket to fly back for a february interview... but I still haven't had any MD acceptances yet... I am content with my DO option though.

I am awaiting responses from 2 schools and I have 2 waitlists. How are my chances of an acceptance in a February interview to Temple? From last year's thread, it seems that nobody who interviewed after January got accepted. And apparently there was no waitlist movement at all the past two years... not liking these chances.

Good luck with your other schools. If you don't take the invite ask them if Cyril Figgis can take your spot. My AMCAS # is 11111112.

Keep in mind that the majority of people who are accepted don't post on SDN, this site is a very small sample size. That being said, I would go! This may be the place that accepts you
Unless you're super happy going to the DO school that you already got into and would rather go there than Temple to begin with...

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but did the application status change to anything from "under review" before you guys received II?

Did Temple state when they would get back with a decision after the interview? Or do they just say a vague "several weeks after"?

I was told on average 3-5 weeks but that they have been backed up since the holidays so it might be longer for anyone who interviewed in January.

I applied to 6, got 4 interviews so far and haven't head from the other two. There's still hope! I seriously didn't think I would get any interviews this late, so hold out awhile longer.

No, after under review it will say invited for an interview, and then once you schedule an interview it will say interview scheduled.

With 4 interviews, you have a good shot of getting in. Congrats on having a strong application and good luck!

This might be a dumb question, but does this period mean a rejection?

No, I was accepted earlier in the cycle lol.

I just posted a comment answering someone's question about parking but later realized I had posted wrong information and deleted the commen. But I needed to include a character in the comment to be able to edit it, so I put a period.

OHHHHH. Haha well congrats on the acceptance!!! I kept seeing that on different threads and I thought it was some secret code I was not in on. I guess waiting for responses from schools is making me crazy. Carry on.

For anyone who has interviewed here with ERIN BARNES (she's a student interviewer), do you have her e-mail address? I completely forgot to ask her for it and need to send her a thank-you e-mail 🙁! If someone could please help that would be great! I tried asking the office, but they do not have that information.

I searched in Temple's Cherry and White Directory and found this email address:

[email protected]

It said it was for a Temple student whose name is Erin Barnes and is a medical student so that's probably the one you're looking for.

can anyone who interviewed at St. Lukes give me information on their acceptance stats? My friend who interviewed there said they have 60 interviews for 34 seats... which doesn't sound right to me.

That sounds close to what I remember from my interview day. There are 30 seats available in the St. Luke's program, and last year it had close to a 50% acceptance rate. I think the big pre-screen comes before interview day, even more so than at the main campus.

Interviewed mid November and have yet to hear anything. Anyone in a similar situation? I'm either rolling with no news is good news or they just decided they would not review me ever.

so I'm assuming its 60 ACCEPTANCES not interviews? Thanks! and is there a waitlist for St. Lukes?

Anyone know if Temple does silent rejections? "Under Review" since September.. How many interview spots can they really have left at this point?

They've rejected pre-II this cycle so it seems that the answer to your first questions is 'No.' As to your second question, personally no clue.

I'm not sure about the waitlist, I would assume there would be one just like anywhere else.

I seem to recall it was 60-something interviews, but I could be wrong. I remember thinking it was a very small number, but when I think about it, if they interview October - February (no idea how many months they actually interview) and have the same number of interviewees that were there on my interview day, that would be a little over 130 interviewees total. So maybe the numbers are going up as more people learn about St. Luke's, or I'm remembering them incorrectly.

I interviewed in mid October and still haven't received any final decision
