Good luck everyone!

I'm an incoming M1 starting this July at A&m's Temple campus. If anyone has any questions about interviewing, campus selection, why I picked A&M etc just PM me or use @QuantumJ in this thread and I'll try to answer your questions. Hopefully some upper levels will also eventually join in as well.

Edit: Some of the best advice I can give at this point is to go read the last two years threads. There's a lot of good info there

Hello Everyone!

I found this forum to be extremely helpful last year when I applied to medical schools. I was accepted at TAMHSC along with QuantumJ. I am participating in an exciting program along with six other students called MDplus. I am in the Bryan/College Station Dallas track. Feel free to shoot me a PM or ask a question on the forum so that everyone can be included.

Best of luck on your application journey!
Gig 'Em!

Congrats on your acceptances! I have a question. So TMDSAS transmitted my primary application to Texas schools 6/4/14. However, on the secondary app home page, it has not marked my primary app & MCAT score as complete. What's even more weird is that after I completed the secondary today, made a payment, and got a confirmation email regarding my payment, the only thing checked as "true" is the completion of the secondary application. Primary application, Secondary fee, and MCAT score is still blank. Did any of you two @AggieMED and @QuantumJ experience this? Do you think I should contact them or wait it out?

If anyone has some insight on this, please help a brotha out!

After submitting my secondary it took almost 2 weeks for everything to show up as "true" even though I had it all taken care of before I hit the submit button. Hope that helps!

I would suspect that there is an initial rush of applicants which can slow down the process.

BAMF status changed to "Under Review!" Submitted secondary 6/11

Really?! Interesting- I was told in an open house that this year they've eliminated the "Under Review" status, and would just maintain "pending" till an offer came out. But Under Review certainly does make sense...

-EDIT- But yay- congrats!! Baby steps

Interview Invite! So excited, such an awesome school

Congrats! That's so awesome 🙂
Did your status change in bamf too?

When did you transmit & send your secondary? What were your stats if you don't mind sharing?

Sorry for all the questions

Do they wait until your LORs are received to decide on interviews? My committee letter from my school won't get sent until beginning of August.

From what I understand, A&M does NOT review apps until they are completely done including LORs, secondaries, and outstanding mcat scores. They take a very holistic approach to reviewing apps, so they wait for every portion to be complete.

Things at Texas schools seem to be going very differently this year though.... Tech and A&M already sending out interviews???? Weird

The "secondary application" was placed under the completed assignments section. My application status is "under review."

I am happy to answer any questions, and am super excited about A&M!! Best of luck to all!

Curious about this "under review" status... Mine says "pending" and when I called last week to ask if I was complete they said yes my file is complete and that the system would continue to say "pending" under interviews. Hmm.. I want to be "under review"...

I was complete in mid-late May!

I am not sure when it switched from pending to under review! I'm sure it will soon for you!

I emailed them about this last week because mine has been pending for a month now. Told me application is complete and currently "under review"... still says pending though 🙁

A&M is much earlier than last year! Currently waiting to transmit. Best of luck everyone

Anyone besides those with II's seen any changes on their application status? Still stuck on pending..........

Mine says Under Review, but I didn't check up on my status before to know if it was Pending previously. Is it for sure Pending before Under Review?

When it's in pending, the site states the status means that they are missing some info (primary, secondary app, payment, letters or recommendation, or MCAT score); however, if everything is received and is still pending then they are "still conducting [their] own internal audit of documents and have not yet sent the application for review".

In other words, I'm pretty sure Pending is prelimary to Under Review and I wish mine was Under Review.

It really makes no sense. Has anyone called and just asked if we should be expecting an under review status citing that some of our "friends" are under review? I'm hoping its some sort of glitch with the system

Anyone not send a committee letter? I just don't see it benefiting more than the outrageously good letters I can already send.

I'm not sure. I'm wondering if we get a confirmation email that our secondary has been received/processed. I completed mine two weeks ago and got nothing from them since I was still pending. Neuroticism is kicking in as I'm stalking UTMB's forum wondering where my interview invite is.

I submitted my secondary on June 15 and still pending. When I call, they say that's fine and normal. Reeeeeally wish I was 'under review' though. And I know they have everything else bc tmdsas confirmed all my materials well before I even got the link to this secondary app. A&m also confirmed with me that they have everything when I first inquired about my pending status. Anyhow, I'm not going to call a second time with the exact same question. So if somebody else is going to ask them again about the under review vs pending status please let us know what they say 🙂

Just got "under review" status today! Transmitted 5/30, Secondary submitted 6/5, MCAT score released 6/10.

Just got "under review" status as well! Transmitted 06/17, Secondary submitted 06/19. Happiest day of my life (so far)! Lol

If we don't check that we are disadvantaged, can we still answer question 20? I want to talk about my medical illness and how I never let it stop me reaching my goals.

20. Describe any circumstances indicative of some hardship, such as, but not limited to, financial difficulties, personal or family illness, a medical condition, a death in the immediate family or educational disadvantage. (Do not leave blank. If not applicable, please so indicate. The character limit on this essay is 3500).

I submitted 6/18! Is this bad new if I haven't heard any noise yet?
