I hope everyone had a great holiday!

About 10 days ago, Ms. Ramseur sent me an email with instructions on how to request a medical waiver--I emailed her back with the correct format and submitted additional documentation. Is there additional paperwork on its way or is that about it? And if there is more paperwork coming, is it emailed or snail mailed to me?

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! I hope I hear the same great news in a few weeks!

is anyone having trouble opening the secnav pdf? it just opens a page that says please wait for me

Question about the waiver process. I just checked my status on dodmerb.tricare.osd.mil and I was DQed for one thing and Pending Waiver Submission/Review. It says "Date letter sent - Disqualification" dated a couple weeks ago. Is this snail mail? or should I be looking for an email from Ms. Ramseur? I want to get all my stuff in asap, trying to distract myself from this 8-10 week post-interview wait!

@Jilted, I still haven't heard back from Ms. R about my waiver, and I submitted my request 4+ weeks ago. I don't know if I'm supposed to be doing stuff or waiting for further instructions, and I've already bombarded Ms. R with emails...

@Starbucko, they do send you a snail mail letter but it doesn't say much that's helpful. You have to contact Ms. R when you want to start the waiver process... I'd go ahead and do that if I were you, since the letter doesn't help. Otherwise I guess they assume you'll give up. :/

@johnnyscans, do you know (or know someone who knows) much about the medical waiver process? It seems I'm not the only one finding the dodmerb site a little vague...

@BlueMax, make sure you have Adobe reader installed.

@llamasarefuzzy, I would guess your original contact person you sent your secondary app to. On the interview update sheet we filled out, it says to notify the admissions office, so I suppose you could send it to [email protected]...

So I got medically DQ'ed and I've been looking for Ms. Ramseur's email address to get the ball rolling on my waiver, but can't find it anywhere. Do you think you could PM me it? Thanks, and good luck on hearing back soon.

Middle of week 4 post interview and just submitted an update with my spring schedule and letting them know exactly how much I love them.

Really hoping to hear some awesome news soon--- would be very special to hear this Thursday as it is my grandfather's birthday. He was the only other doc in my family and was an army physician during the Korean war. It would be such a special way to honor his memory to be accepted to USUHS to follow in his footsteps on his birthday. (Although, it would also be kind of early because it would be 5 weeks post interview. A girl can dream, though )

Has anyone from Oct. 9th heard back yet? It's almost 8 weeks and still just waiting...
People from 10/2 and 10/23 was accepted last week. From previous months posts, it seems like they review applications in groups of several weeks rather than in exact order. Although it wouldn't hurt to drop your admissions person an email... I have found them to be extremely helpful

Thanks llamas!! Navy, 10/23!!! 😀

Congrats! Were you previously waitlisted for the Navy or straight accepted? Because Navy spots were supposedly filled since the mid-late September interview dates...

Trying to make sure I have all of my logistics ironed out for my interview....Is there somewhere to store our luggage at the Admissions Office? Would it be difficult to take it from the gate to USU? Thanks!

Love the avatar.

Taking it from the date to admissions wouldn't be too hard as long as you have something small. We were able to store bags there but no one in our interview group had actual luggage that I noticed. If you manage to just have backpack or something small I think it should be good.

Haven't heard back yet from Oct 9th interview. Their best guess on interview day was that we would hear back on Veterans' Day (Nov 11th), plus or minus two weeks. Looks like it's taking a little longer than expected. I thought applying to med school was hard. Now I think waiting is harder...

Yeah, things are probably backed up after the thanksgiving holiday. It seems like most calls have been on Thursdays/Fridays with the exception of thanksgiving, so I've (sort of) managed to put it out of my mind for today.

Hey Nate. No prior waitlist. I heard the same, so I involuntarily squeaked out a rather loud "REALLY!?" during the call. I'm still afraid to believe it tbh...

Sending good vibes and crossing my fingers for everyone!!

Just got the call! Army spot, interviewed 10/23!
Congrats!

That's two from our interview date now, I'm hoping to be the 3rd. Got good news that my conditional release is recommended to be approved (honestly was sweating that part the most) so now I get to sweat waiting for a call, hoping to get in!

I believe I finished my last remedial today as well.

Rooting for you glycereine! Also waiting on a remedial.. One of my hospitals lost my request!

Phone rings tonight from an unknown number. Cue panic. "Hello? Is this llamas? We are conducting a survey regarding public policy in your state". Incident confirmed for me that the sympathetic nervous system is indeed a real thing and more than functional in my body right now.

So who am I interviewing with on Thursday?
Good luck! Be sure to let us know how it goes! The interview is really chill and the Sim center is incredible. Be sure to take the opportunity to chat with the faculty... That is what really made the school so special for me

Also it would be super cool if you could find out which branches ate full and report back it you get a chance!

Got news this morning that my LOA has been routed for final approval, so that's big! USUHS can't even offer me anything until that goes through, so I'm glad it's getting there!

Sent them an update email this morning too in response to some questions, so hopefully both things are good news 🙂

Awesome! What is the loa?

Perhaps same deal as fieldandstream3 -- got an email this AM explaining the Navy wait list, with the option to express interest in Army or Air Force instead. Expressed interest in both, and now I've got a conditional acceptance to Air Force!! Legitimately the best birthday present ever 🙂

So, interviewed 10/2, wait listed Navy, and then conditional acceptance to Air Force today (12/3).

Could not be more excited!!!
