Yes I'm interviewing Dec 6th! So I'll be studying for my finals up until then!
Are you going to the reception on the 5th? I'm driving down that afternoon. Let me know if you need anything, as I believe you are from out of state? Just PM me!

Oh that's so sweet! Yeah I can't go to the reception (I have to work), but I hope to see you there!!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Applied here, got the pre-interview hold a month ago. What do you guys think about "interest letters?" Should I email them or call them, reaffirming my continued interest in the school? Any experience with that?

Thanks friends and Good luck to all waiting and congrats to those accepted. 🙂

I think that is the same as an update letter--which apparently they don't accept.

Hey, I would just be patient! It's definitely stressful to wait, but if you're invited for an interview it'll feel sooo much better! I was put on hold early October and invited for an interview near the end of November.

Good luck for this weekend

Anyone know what time admission decisions were announced on november 7th?

Accepted about 10 minutes ago 🙂 Interviewed 9/27, received "under review" email on 10/28.

Edit: accepted via email

Hey do you remember what time you received your acceptance email? I interviewed in early november and I'm getting pretty antsy.

Wow that's awesome. My kind of school.

🙁, if you haven't heard from that I'm guessing I have a while to wait then.
Possibly - other interview dates appear to have been clumped together... Though I would hope (because I was a 10/18 interview) that the October interviewees will hear back sooner 🙂 Maybe tomorrow? Would be a good day in my opinion haha

I'm a fellow 10/18 interviewee as well. I also think they have clumped the dates together, considering how long it's been since they last sent acceptances.

I interviewed 11/1 and went under review 11/19. I'm hoping that has been enough time for some kind of decision. The thanksgiving holiday might have set it back a little though. I don't know how long the committee deliberates on each file.

What is a "pre interview hold email?" My app wasn't complete until 10/28 because of rec letters and I received a confirmation that everything was received, but I hadn't heard anything else. Is there a formal pre interview hold email? And if I haven't received something of that sort by now, should I assume my app won't actually be reviewed? I'm a reapplicant and last year I submitted my app in November and still received an II before thanksgiving. :/

The only email I received between complete and invite was the invite email. I wouldn't necessarily say there are any issues with your application. I think I was complete 8/18 and got invite 10/3 as a timeline reference. Probably find this week sees another round of invites and acceptances/wait list go out after the holiday last week..... And all apps in before dec 12th should be reviewed.

It generally takes them between 4-6 weeks to review your application for an interview invite. My guess would be that you are still being reviewed for an interview, that's why you haven't received an update! Good luck🙂

So if the general consensus is that they don't like updates via email, would the only chance be to bring it up at an interview, assuming we get one?

There isn't a lot of time to talk about your background during the MMI in any kind if detail, unless something turns out to be germane to the topic of the station.

Unfortunate, though I do like that they do MMI.

Has anyone successfully sent in an update/LOI/heartfelt plea for interview/acceptance somehow?

Absolutely!

U of A Tucson is my number one choice. I've lived in Arizona my whole life and I'm a desert rat through and through.

I haven't felt like this in a long time. It's like when you reveal to someone that you have a crush on them and you are waiting to hear a response if they feel the same way as you do. So much hope and embarrassment in the silence.

You are priceless! That is a really good analogy. Please UofA... dance with me?

I had no idea they don't like updates via email. I recently sent them an email reiterating my interest 🙁 Damn

Don't get too emotionally invested. I'm a Native Tucsonan and I got the shaft last year and it looks like they're preparing to produce it, again, for deeper ramming this year. This process will chew you up and spit you out if you let it 😉

How is the MMI format? is it much different from a regular interview (besides the mini and multiple parts)

Are the questions basic? or do they ask difficult ethics questions?

Did you get the shaft post-interview? If so how long did it take you to get that rejection? I'm really hoping that they let us know before march if we're rejected. Also, did U. of A - tucson offer to give you feedback about your application after you were rejected?

I was on the wait list and was rejected the day before school started! They did not offer any rejection feedback......

Damn =/. Is the waitlist ranked or unranked and do the let you know your position? Also, when did they announce you were on the waitlist? march?

I burst out laughing at my phone when I read this.

Thank you for the perspective. I've got to keep my cool with this school.

Yes I was notified that I was on the waitlist around March. No idea of my position on the list. I think I am on a similar path this year too unfortunately 🙁

What makes you say that? Is there anything in particularly you think you've might have done wrong or didn't do?

Formal rejection in March. No feedback, even when I called and asked.

It depends on the school. I would simply say be humble, know what you believe and know why you believe it.

Why do you say that? If they have interviewed a second time around, they must like you.

Plenty of people who are interviewed at most schools don't get accepted. Hopefully your optimism turns out to be true for him and the rest of us though 🙂. We could be the small portion that gets in.

Yea, I realize that plenty of people who are interviewed don't get accepted, but he has interviewed there twice so it must mean that they like him ( at least a little 🙂). I am a re-applicant as well and interviewed last year, so I sincerely hope that they see something in me that they like;-)

Yea, that makes sense. I got a question since you're a reapplicant. Did you significantly change your application before you re-applied (like personal statement, secondary responses, and letters of recommendation) or did you keep them the same? It'd be really helpful to know since you got interviews, so your application is good 🙂.

I am a second time applicant. On waitlist until the day before school started. I significantly changed my personal statement. Added research experience that I previously did not have. I have also been a scribe for over a year now too
