Hi Dr. Cunningham,
For the math, humanities, and upper division biology course requirement, would it be acceptable if we include courses that we took as a graduate (MPH) student?

Dr. Cunningham,
Hello! First off, thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions! Honestly just seeing you reply to my peer's questions makes me want to come here so much. It's pretty much my top choice at this point.
Anyways, here's my question. I took a film GE class last year and I got a zero on one of the assignments, unfortunately. When I look at my transcripts it shows up in red. Obviously, this is extremely troublesome to me, even though I got an A and the class was only 1 unit. I just want to know if this will be a major detriment to my application. Please let me know as soon as you can, as I have really been losing some sleep over this.
Again, thank you so much, and I look forward to meeting you on interview day!
Same 7/7 IS...I've been complete since 7/7 OOS. I'm hoping the fact that I didn't receive a rejection yet means they liked something about my application. Keeping the faith alive. 👍
Sure, as long as they fulfill the course requirement - what course would you use as the UD Bio and Humanities? I suspect your MPH requires stats, so this fulfills the Math requirement....

Dr. Cunningham,
My apologies, I meant to say, would it be acceptable to include courses that we took as a graduate (MPH) student for the math, behavioral and social science (not humanities), and an upper division biology course requirement? My 2 behavioral science courses are 1) Public Health Policy and Management and 2) Advanced Health Care Administration. I am using an undergraduate religions course for my humanities requirement. I was also in another graduate/professional program, so I am using a 500 level Genetics course for my upper division biology course. Yes, my MPH had a Biostatistics/Public Health course, which I am using for my math requirement. I wanted to use my graduate level courses because they are more current than my undergraduate courses.
Thank you again, Dr. Cunningham for answering all of our questions!
Hello Dr. Cunningham,
I have a question for you regarding the timing of my secondary application. I am waiting for my new MCAT score to be released on September 30th. If I submit the secondary this week, will my new exam score still be considered with my application?
Thank you!

Hello Dr. Cunningham,Yes, as long as your primary application included the future MCAT a intent date. We hold these back until scores are received.

Hello Dr. Cunningham,
I was wondering if two semesters of combined "human anatomy and physiology," fulfills the physiology requirement? I listed it in the secondary as the required physiology course.
Hello Dr. Cunningham,
With regard to this same situation, I received an application decision email (rejection) dated 9/12/2014. I was still awaiting scores to be posted from the August 15, 2014 MCAT, which posted 9/16/2014. My AMCAS application stated my intent to take the MCAT August 15th. Could you provide some clarification on this issue? Should my application been held until the scores were released? Thank you for your assistance.
Dr. Cunnigham,Welcome to the 2015-2015 application cycle! I hope to meet many of you over the course of the season, but until then I would like to introduce myself. I'm Dr. Cunningham, Assistant Dean for the Office of Admissions & Recruitment and Assistant Professor at the COM-Phoenix. I've been in Phoenix since 2006, the start of our four-year program, and the class for which you are applying will be my 9th class. Our program has grown from 24 to 80 students and our campus has expanded (still is) in the thriving and lively downtown Phoenix biomedical science corridor.
I'm here to answer your questions about our two programs: MD and graduate certificate (aka Pathway Scholars). Pathways is for Arizona-only, while MD is open to anyone who is a US Citizen or has Permanent Residency.
You are always welcome to call or email our office - visit phoenixmed.arizona.edu for contact and other helpful information about our selection criteria and application process.
Remember to breathe through the process and be responsible for your own information. We're here to help!!
We will post our newest MD class stats once they arrive on July 7. Pathway Scholars begin on June 23.
Dr. Cunnigham,
Is the profile for the incoming class of 2014 going to be posted soon? I only see up to the incoming class of 2013 posted on UA Phoenix Med's website. I just wanted to know what the range/average MCAT /GPA were for the current class?
congrats!! whats your stats (if you dont mind)?II yesterday! OOS. Complete August 16. Cannot be more thrilled!
Hi Dr. Cunningham,
Thanks for answering all of our questions, we all really appreciate it! Do you know when the next "batch" of interview decisions will be released?
Thank you!! Forgive me if this next question has been answered in previous threads, but for someone who is put on hold after their initial review, how often are they reviewed again? We are all inviting daily or in other words, as soon as decisions are made.

Have they been putting people on hold? Or are you assuming since you have heard no news then it is essentially a hold.Thank you!! Forgive me if this next question has been answered in previous threads, but for someone who is put on hold after their initial review, how often are they reviewed again?
Well after they initially review you, it's either (1) interview invite, (2) outright rejection or (3) "hold" (the silence period people experience). My question was just, if you are "held," how often do you get re-reviewed for an interview invite.Have they been putting people on hold? Or are you assuming since you have heard no news then it is essentially a hold.
Great, thanks!Reviewed every week.

Hello Dr. Cunningham,
I was advised to apply for the Pathway Scholars Program after my MD application was turned down. I am assuming once I change the program type under AMCAS, it'll take a few weeks to reprocess and I fill out a new secondary? If that is the case, will it reflect negatively if I use the same LORs, or would you suggest getting new letters for this program? Thank you!
All of the classes seem so diverse. It really does look like UA Phoenix Med holistically evaluates its applicants 🙂Entering class of 2014 profile is published at http://phoenixmed.arizona.edu/entering-class-2014

It doesn't mean that more weren't accepted. It only means that 11 ended up matriculatingI can't believe only 11 are not from AZ or CA. That scares me as a Pacific NW'er.

Where do you see the "diversity" in their class profile? Am I missing a page?

Dr. Cunnigham,
According to MSAR, the 10%-90% percentile MCAT scorse accepted at UA-Phoenix was between 27-34; however, according to your website, the range of MCAT score was from 23-40. Does this mean that the individual(s) that got accepted with a 23 were in 0-9.99% percentile? I'm just a little confused !

Oh ok! But even last year's (2013's) incoming class's MCAT range was 24-41?MSAR data is one year behind.

What's confusing about this? Your reasoning seems correct. The 23-27 scores in the class make up the bottom 10 percent of scores in the class.Dr. Cunnigham,

Golly gee. Complete beginning of July and still haven't heard a peep. It seems like decisions have been slow lately, yes? Does anyone know how often UA-Phoenix holds interviews?
