MMI, ~10 stationsAnyone know whether the interview format is traditional or MMI?
YesHas anyone received an interview invite yet?
Not sure, my interview is this Saturday. I think I read they only have Saturday interviews and there are two groups (morning/afternoon)What dates are available for interviews?
Congrats!! When were you complete if you don't mind.Invite yday, first date was in early November, two available groups A (8AM-230PM) and B (9:15AM-330PM).
Thank God for Saturday interviews!
Are you from IE? I think they are more of a SoCal especially IE school. That said, people from OOS have got interviews =)Hey guys! Do you know how UCR is in terms of considering OOS? I'm from California but moved to Chicago over four years ago. Looking to move back to CA!
I think you have a strong demonstration of your intent to fulfill their mission. All you can do is apply. Supposedly next year it might be 100 students which would obviously help since right now it is so selective! So I'm not applying this year--but I'm really interested in this school and couldn't find a better place to ask this question. I'm not from the IE (from norcal), but I have been in the IE for the past 2 years and will be for another 2. My significant other is from the IE (grew up in the underserved area), and from him I came to love this area (also, his parents still live around there and we visit them a LOT). I've done all of my clinical volunteering in riverside community hospital, and am a research volunteer at LLU as well as a volunteer at the free clinic in San Bernardino. Do you guys think this is enough demonstration of my commitment to the IE? I should have almost 2 years of volunteering in the IE and 1.5 years of research at LLU.
I only have a very basic knowledge of spanish (steadily improving since my SO's parents don't speak english at all), but plan on taking an accelerated spanish course ( I took spanish in HS, so I'm familiar with it).

Are they still only interviewing ~260?it doesn't really matter if you're from the IE or not. Sure you will have a better chance of being interviewed if you have been in the IE but a whole bunch of MS1's have never even stepped foot into the city until the start of medical school. UCR Alums will get interview invites as soon as their secondaries are processed like everyone else. They are just limited to particular days when you schedule your interviews. FYI, last year there were 6000 applicants, 4000 applicant increase from the inaugural class.

Thank you!Good luck everyone on your upcoming interviews and congrats to those who completed the interview already!
Each day has two groups. One group starts MMI right away while the other group goes over curriculum, scholarships, rotations, residency, tour, and lunch. Then it switchesWhat is the interview day like? What is the order of activities (overview of the curriculum, tour of facilities, lunch with students, MMI)?

I believe so.Thanks for your response. So the applicants in "Session-B" do the orientation/tour/lunch, and then have the MMI at the very end of the day?

This year is still 50. There is talk to go up to 100 next year, but I believe it is all based on financing.I'm more or less in your same boat (minus the significant other part and the vast amounts of volunteering) and will be applying next year as well. Any word on if they are expanding class size for this year and 2016 cycle? I know the inaugural year was only 50, and there has been mention of that number increasing but does anyone have any of this information confirmed?

Ya its good and bad. I am so nervous because of the 50 spots it is super competitive. At the same time, if I get accepted I will be happy with 50 because of the close-knit community and small teacher-student ratio. Best of luck next year!mmm good to know. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully they do increase number of seats next year 🙂

Your best bet is to probably email them an update letter as an addendum to your application. Maybe call prior to doing so, as I know *some* schools specifically do not accept update letters. I'm not sure about UCR.. good luck!I was just wondering, my primary and secondary are already complete and I just got a publication and one is being approved.. How do I update them on this information??
They are only interviewing ~250 people total so they are probably rolling out IIs very slowly. They told us we might hear some acceptance news at the end of the month, but maybe not until December. They have to take things slow since they have only 50 spots.Any news recently anyone?
I was complete mid-August but haven't heard anything!
