Same here! Then I took my sweet time trying to decide if I wanted to write something for the optional essay, didn't submit until four days after getting the secondary and ended up not writing anything lolol

Between taking that long to submit and not having any research I think my chances of interviewing here are pretty slim :/

seems like they are sending out alot more secondaries this year than previously

My friend, I don't think four days is going to make or break your application. I bet it was fabulous.
 
Does anyone know how pre-interview updates work at ucsf? Or if they are allowed at all? I am beginning a new yearlong commitment that will drastically change my application (i believe, at least). Any help is appreciated!

Awh, thank you! Hope you get some surprise IIs this weekend!

Oh, you know it. Back in June I bought myself a big tub of nutella to drown my app-cycle woes. As it gets lighter, I've been getting conspicuously heavier (oops)... that's what happens when you get hella nutella.

honestly, reading this made me feel slightly less guilty and glad to know i'm not the only one. food consumption of all sorts accompanied by high levels of cortisol from the stress of this cycle has caused me to gain 30 lbs since may. lol

I feel ya! If anyone asks me "What are you good at?" in an interview my response is going to be "binge eating when I'm stressed". Happy almost birthday, by the way!
 
So I added this school pretty late as kind of a last minute "what the heck?" and received the secondary earlier this week! I feel really honored!
 
Are they not screening this year? Just got the secondary with pretty low stats, 3.0 uGPA, 3.8 SMP GPA, 38 MCAT

I'm wondering the same thing. My gpa is a 3.6 and my MCAT is a 31, and im oos. 😵 definitely was not expecting a secondary but I got one
 
Their emails told us to wait 4-6 weeks after completion, but it has been that long for many people now. Has anyone tried asking them?

I just ordered my first Starbucks drink all by myself at a Starbucks in ucsf. Today is going to be legendary. Perhaps an II?

No, that sounds wonderful. And rare for NYC for sure. However, San Francisco manages to make a summer that's 90 degrees everywhere else in the Bay seem like 40. And at night it feels like you're doing the ice bucket challenge just by walking down the street.

Oh who am I kidding, I would die to go here!
 
In the bit about updating and expanding on your activities, y'all think its a good idea to talk in more detail about your project?

I would even go to med school in Seattle (although insanely difficult to get in OOS) if it got me out of NYC. Anyway, I wish you the best this cycle!!
 
Secondary last night! Really thought I would get a rejection pre-secondary. OOS, LizzyM ~75. I wonder if they screen much at all this year. Excited anyway!

"Completion"? Do you mean the AMCAS verification?

F.Underwood was talking about "email" to tell him/her to wait 4-6 weeks. It is SO confused now. I don't recall I receive ANY primary confirmation from UCSF. Are we all talking about different things?

May I ask what email you refer to? I don't recall I receive anything from USCF since AMCAS verified the primary; such that I don't even know UCSF knows I apply.

I believe they are referring to the email received after you submit the secondary. UCSF doesn't send out a confirmation email about your primary, the first contact people have been receiving is a secondary (I don't believe they've been sending out rejections quite yet). Hope this helps!
