2014-2015 University of Central Florida Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi everyone! I am not sure if this has been asked before but my SO and I are both applying to UCF. I've noticed that some medical schools ask if your SO is also applying but since UCF does not ask I was wondering if I should let them know or if this is a bad idea. 🙂

Finally submitted! Took a little longer than expected, but I'm very excited to hear back from UCF! One of my favorite schools! I'm glad I had the chance to check out the campus while I was in Orlando in May!

I would call the Admissions Office and see if they have a particular process for that. I am sure they have been asked that before 🙂
Good luck to you and your SO!

so after my first week at UCF OMG!!! I had multiple options of where to choose from and i am very happy with my decision. They are so supportive and what other school hires someone to just tell you to to study and when, they have told us to not buy any books that they will provide most! REL is still the most amazing guy! I hope you guys get to matriculate here and GOOD LUCK!!!

Ommg 🙂 this makes me so happy. Have fun!!

Not sure the submit date but I was complete 7/16.

complete 7/18...got an interview last cycle but was waitlisted...i hope i get another chance!

Does anyone know if they pre-screen before sending secondaries?

I don't believe so. But, the real screening comes at submission of the secondary.

Thanks for the reply guys. I've been verified since Thursday so was just wondering. Haven't received it from FSU either so I guess some schools take longer.

FSU Screens pre secondary; i received my secondary ~10 days after verification!

EFI !! complete 7/18, IS, reapp

Received EFI status change today. Complete 7/22 OOS. Hopefully an interview follows!

How long after the EFI status change did you guys get the phone call to schedule your interview?

If you don't mind me asking, what were your options for schools and why did you pick UCF over others?

sory to be a noob guys but what does EFI Stand for?

do people who get the EFI status undergo a different screening process than the one for secondaries? how strict is this process?

someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I believe EFI is a screening they do after being complete with app.

Whenever I check my status and I am still complete and under review 😛

If I have this right, when you submit your secondary they will first review your letters to see if they fulfill the requirements. This may take a few weeks (and I think you'll be in "hold for information" status), then you reach complete status. From there, the committee reviews your application, and then designates you as eligible for interview (EFI) or not eligible for interview. If you are in EFI status, you may or may not be offered an interview. From earlier in the thread, I think about 30-40% of people in EFI status eventually get an interview, but it may not be right away and you may spend a few months in EFI status.

EFI today, OOS. I really like this school, but with 86 OOS interviews offered last year out of ~2,000 OOS applicants, I'm not entirely optimisitic

Fiu, UUtah, Miami accepted me late, carver college(Iowa).

There's so many reasons! I made a chart! I'm from here had lot of connects, I knew muliple students who went here abd knew they never felt terribly overwhelmed. The board scores were amazing. I almost went to another school only because of free tuition buttttt after talking to lots of doctors the difference in 50,000 was nothing. If you get the chance to have multiple acceptances and need help id love to tell you more! (Ps school once in is amazing cheap! Living cheap, food, gas, free books from school, iPad, laptop, )

Submitted today. Come on UCF ...In state love 😛 also anyone who is getting EFI/ II what were your stats?

I hope being in the EFI pool this early increases my chances of at least getting an interview. UCF is my alma mater and it would be awesome to stay here 4 more years.

Hey guys! I've read about the screening before sending out secondaries.

My MCAT scores are not in yet. They should be posted in 2-3 weeks. Could that be what's keeping me from getting a secondary invite? My gpa is definitely high enough.

I didn't get my secondary until the day after my scores came in.
