I got a phone call yesterday but did not receive email notification and a scheduling tab on the online portal until this afternoon.
 
congrats everyone!! were you guys with II's IS or OOS? What do you think my chances are of getting an II if my stats are cGPA 3.3, 34 mcat (13V, 10P, 11B), Teach For America, lots of other ECs and UMD was my UG university?

Probably pretty good, you're in their ranges for GPA and MCAT. Good luck to you. Idk how they look at ppl who went to their UG (some schools like it, others don't.)

lol well I guess I should put a disclaimer *results may vary* lol jk from what I can see your GPA is on the low side for them but your MCAT is higher than their median. But I always tell ppl the app cycle is not all about numbers. There are so many other things that can persuade them. Idk how they look at students that went to their UG so that may or may not give you an edge being that you're OOS. From MSAR last year about 270 OOS students were interviewed with close to 50 matriculating, so that can give you an idea of your chances. They are a state school so they have to take more IS students, but I say you have a chance. Good luck to you!

Question - did anyone receive an actual COMPLETE email, or just the "secondary application received" email?

I only received the secondary received email. Looking through last year's thread it appears to be synonymous with a complete application. I don't think anyone received an additional email after that until II's, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

From what I understand from that email, they want us to check the portal for completion, so I don't think they'll be sending another "you're complete" email... I think.

That's what I got from it too. I didn't receive an email, but when I checked the portal it said my letters and everything else had been received and the slot for interview said not scheduled yet. That's about it.

Oh really? Wait did you get an II? Next to my interview, it says: "Under Review"

No I don't have an II lol I wish. I was getting confused with the Howard secondary, that one says that even though you haven't actually gotten an II. I just looked and you're right it says under review.

Oh haha the sad thing is I was getting excited to anticipate another status change. What has this application cycle done to me...

I've turned into a crack addict for status changes. I got excited today cuz I got an email from Meharry, but it was a damn duplicate telling me how my app was complete and ready for review...I wanted to slap someone for getting my hopes up lol
 
II received! By email. OOS, non-URM, c/sGPA 3.5, MCAT 30, non-trad with significant clinical and research experience (3 publications and 1 first author paper submitted). Looking to sign up for 10/6 interview 🙂
 
does it matter if I push my interview date a week later due to convenience or is 1 week differance REALLY important
 
Wow congrats on everyone's II's!! I'm IS but I have a low GPA so I'm just hoping they give me a shot. Best of luck to everyone, gooooo terps!

They haven't even really told us our class statistics and im in the class of 2018. just about 70-80% of us are instate looks like based on hand raising at orientation.

Woops I should add - I submitted on 7/29 and got a complete email on 8/8. I sent an in-area notice earlier this week so that might have helped!

I don't know exactly how many, but last year there were two groups during my interview day—one morning and one afternoon. I believe it's less than 10... But don't hold me to it.

samesies. Hoping that Maryland won't keep us in the dark for too much longer…the silence is KILLING me. And that "under review" lock thing makes me even more anxious….
 
Does the under review for interview "lock" thing mean anything or does everyone get it? Sorry, neuroticism kicking in.....
 
Does anyone know when they send out interview invites for MD/MPH applicants?

Doesn't mean anything other than "you haven't been offered an interview yet."

It means nothing. Should you get an II the 'interview' tab will appear in your portal. Besides, all communication is done through email anyway, so you'll just have to hang in there. :luck:

lol I know right! I'm upset cuz I turned everything in as soon as I could and now I've heard nothing forever lol I hope they give us a chance!!

Ugh I'm with you guys. My stats are only a little below their averages but I haven't heard back yet. I hope they give us all a chance! There's a thousand reasons why I would like to go to this school.
