Holy moly, what a waiting game and year it's been. Ranked a bit above 20. Best of luck to all of you!! Hopefully the list moves a lot and quickly!

True. I have been disappointed in their level of communication throughout the process so I am not shocked. In a way i am relieved and can move on, even though i already had

I feel like being oos hurt our chances here much more than I thought it would. Granted its anecdotal and based on a small sample size but the couple people with low alternate list numbers are in state and the two triple digits are oos. Also, i didnt notice a lot of oos applicants posting they got in. Anyway, what I take from this experience is that I learned that the Twin Cities is a really nice area and I would come back for a weekend trip in the future.
 
Does anyone know how much the list has moved in the past, I'm sitting above 40
 
So is there any idea what sort of movement UMN waitlist see? I tried looking in previous years, seemed last years thread indicated almost none and before that people said 50-75ish in the initial ranking.

OOS 20<me<50 for what its worth to others, and interviewed im feb.
 
Good luck to everyone. I'm another OOS'er ranked higher than 150! I'm very disappointed, and it's just what it is. Hope folks get off the list soon!

Have been obsessively calling the wait list hotline only to hear the same "it's Monday April 27th" message. Wondering when we should start seeing a rush of WL calls....

I've been trying to wait until tomorrow to call the hotline...it's so hard though! Hoping there are some calls tomorrow! 🙂 You'll probably know so soon!
 
It's torture! So curious to know how much it moved after the April 30th deadline!

Its driving me crazy. My top choice currently and I am dying to know where they sit. Wonder if they are just waiting to call people. According to sdn there was at least one withdraw since Monday the 27th ....

Out of all the schools I've been wait listed at this is the slowest movement. I know last year they had great movement but the year before they barely made it past 10 if that. Was hoping it wouldnt be the case this cycle.

Such a bummer that it didn't move more 🙁 hopefully it keeps pushing along...

Late to the party on this particular question. I am from Duluth and attended Twin Cities for premed. Focus is really important here.

UMD is a small, enclave school (as you know because you interviewed there) and the medical faculty as well as the non-medical administration are 100% focused on providing physicians for rural family med, especially American Indian (northern MN) and rural communities. The relationships established between the Duluth campus and the outlying communities is strong.

So, if RFP is your future, then Duluth.

Twin Cities is bigger, more urban, more ... everything. If you have any interest in anything other than RFP, go Minneapolis... and let those who want to RFP take the Duluth spot.
 
I turned down my Duluth acceptance right away to be closer to home. Thanks for the advice though I hope it helps others decide too. It is a tough choice since both are great!
 
Hi everyone! Ive been a silent reader on this thread for a while but i wanted to share my anxiety. Im original #10 on the alternate list and this waiting game is just killing me!

Congrats to all of you! I just visited there a few weeks ago and ... I love the Gophers; the U; the city.
 
Finally an update since May 11! Original #9 is now number 1...and not many from the top 20 have taken their names off of the list (only 14 and 19).
 
The orginal number 12 is now number 1... And most everything else on the beginning of the list is about the same.
