Finally! Got my secondary.

Early this morning I sent in a letter that basically said "Yo, where the secondaries at" (well... a bit more tactfully... asking if perhaps I had missed it in spam or something) and although I didn't get an answer to that e-mail I did get the secondary sometime after lunch.

Coincidence? Maybe. I dunno.
 
Just an FYI, the U is notoriously slow in sending out secondaries. When I applied two years ago, it took 1-2 months to get my secondary.

I'm currently an MS2 at the U, so feel free to ask any questions.
 
I just got the secondary for Twin Cities, but it doesn't give me a password for the page it links to, and I've requested a new password, but nothing comes in to my email. Did this happen to anyone else?

Happened to me too, I just requested a new password a second time and then the email came.
 
Other than the confirmation of payment, I didn't get anything.

I just see that I have all green check-marks on my application status so I figure I am golden.
 
I applied in the first wave and didn't get mine until Monday this week (after I sent an e-mail requesting info on the status, but that may have been unrelated).

You aren't alone in being secondary-less like that.
 
I too only got my secondary this past Tuesday after being verified very early on. I followed "Don'tStopMeNow" and e-mailed them inquiring about my application and received it later that afternoon. Also a coincidence?? I have heard that there are two people that screen your application before sending out secondaries, so there is that....

Still waiting. I plan to email them Monday if I don't hear anything by tomorrow.
 
I'm still waiting too. I emailed them on Tuesday but still no word.
 
The reason I am not surprised in any way is this UMN - TC and they kinda have a reputation for this. Just saying lol.

For TC, I got a secondary 7/21, interview invite 8/1, hoping to interview 8/15!

Have either of you heard back regarding your actual interview date? I gave them my preference and still waiting to hear back from them. 8/15 is only a week away!

I sent them an email yesterday and they confirmed my date a few hours later. I got more info about the itinerary this morning. It's coming up quick!

I ended up calling today and got my date confirmed. Said they were working on them now and would send emails confirming later today.

I applied regular decision.
 
II today as well! Complete 7/29 or thereabouts. Love the UMN community, so I'm very excited!
 
Still no secondary here, verified June 12 lol. LizzyM 70-74, so I don't think stats is the issue.... maybe they don't like me:blackeye:

+1 maybe they don't like me already. Normally it takes meeting me for 5 minutes to get there, the U has got skills...
 
Interview invite here. For those that responded to the admissions office with your top two dates how long was the turnaround time? I sent my email on Friday evening and have not heard back yet. Figured I would have heard something today since I doubt they work on the weekends. Thanks.

I got an interview invite on a Friday and had to email them to follow up the following Thursday. They confirmed my date shortly after and then sent a timeline/confirmation on Friday. So it took a week to hear back.

This page indicates that they send ~2,000 secondaries out in total. The data are from 2006-2012 though, so that certainly might have changed recently.

Edit: It's also a little unclear whether they mean they send out or receive 2,000 secondaries. In any case, the majority of people who apply should get a secondary.

For those who submitted secondaries for the Twin Cities...we are looking @ 1.5 weeks for an II (anybody get rejected yet?)

Wait...i thought they already sent out II's? Where are the above II's? Duluth?

I don't know about that. My experience (and I guess... logic) says that they take less time to reject a person than they would if they offered him an II. I've been waiting about two weeks now, so I don't know how to feel about that number if you are trying to spot a trend or something.
 
Don't know if I'm beating a dead horse here, but is anyone who was AMCAS verified in early June still sans secondary? Should I email them or is it safe to assume I won't be getting one? Just a little confused!
 
Ruby109: I don't know the exact nature/timing of the delay they have going on right now, but it's pretty clear they have a big one. I submitted as soon as possible this year and in the end, people were getting II before I even got a secondary. Compared to last year, this was a huge delay (and my stats drastically went up this year, so I doubt it was because I was being screened or anything).

I sent in an email questioning if I had possibly let it go into spam/missed it (I had been out of the country) and within 5 hours I got the secondary (no response to the original email). I don't know what is going on, but if you haven't received a reject, you aren't rejected.
 
I am OOS and was verified early July, just got my secondary on August 15. I think they've got a giant dart board with our names on it, and whoever gets a hit gets sent a secondary.
