2014-2015 University of Minnesota Application Thread

This year, I sent in my primary the day it opened and got my secondary a couple days after it was verified. Two years ago, I submitted my primary in early July and didn't get a secondary until the end of September. So for those of you who are still waiting, I wouldn't worry too much.
 
Just got my secondary today! For those still waiting, I was AMCAS verified the first week of June so the wait is real!
 
II today, complete on 7/31, IS. Interviewing 9/19. First MD interview, cannot wait. I was given 4 choices in September, and they said to choose two in case you can't get your first choice. You have to email them back with your choices, it's not like other schools with an online form.
 
Are you guys calling the date you received the fee confirmation email your complete date? I never got an email saying I was complete.
 
First II! Just received email this morning. IS, U of M graduate 2013, LizzM 72. Super excited!
Secondary received: 7/22
Secondary complete: 7/24

Yes, that is exactly what i am referring to. I did not receive a "complete" email either.
 
Haha I keep getting antsy when I see all these IIs go out, but then I have to sit back and remind myself that I only just got my secondary 8/5 (and many others are still waiting).
 
For those of you who received an II yesterday, have you received a confirmation email for the exact interview date already?

Nope, i basically told them any of those dates would work (i did pick two just to show i was paying attention).
 
They took about a week to get back to me with a scheduling confirmation, and it sounds like that has been pretty typical for people so far. I would expect a response next Tuesday/Wednesday.

Honestly, I'm not any sort of source on this (so anyone who has tried/knows about the way "in the area" emails are received overrules me) but I wouldn't think they would do much.

This school is pretty massive and if it is anything like the way they did feedback sessions (invited me to a feedback session that was just a powerpoint presentation on generic ways to improve an application and then let us know they didn't give individual feedback) so I wouldn't get my hopes up about them bending their schedule/process for it.

(I love the school, but it is a behemoth, no getting around that).
 
Secondary received to TC! OOS but with ties to Minneapolis. So excited for the chance to submit this! 🙂

Interviewed here on the 22nd of August...this school is AWESOME!!! I have a bunch of II's and each one will have to do something amazing to top this program. From the "flex years" to the 6 weeks off to study for STEP 1, this place really gives each student a chance to excel here. Hands down my number 1 choice now.
 
Ok don't get academically violent now lol I'm also super excited about the U too although I haven't received any love yet

I still haven't received a confirmation email also and it has been almost a week now. Perhaps I should give them a call? Has anyone received the email reply yet from the interview date selection?

I haven't yet but i'm not worried. I'm sure they'll confirm by the end of the week.
 
They will probably confirm soon. The earliest date I was offered was Sep 5th so waiting until the end of this week to notify us would be cutting it close for booking flights, etc.
 
Question: on my status page, it doesn't show a green check mark next to my LoR, although I have 3/3 submitted. I may very likely be investing far too much in this check's presence, but I figured I would see if anyone has said check. IS re-applicant, so want to make sure everything is timely!
 
Submitted my primary the first day...and JUST got my secondary =D

Woohooo looks like they didn't forget about me =P

There isn't a check mark next to mine either. I believe it was determined earlier in this thread that it is this way for everyone! Good luck
 
I'm OOS, submitted my primary on day 2, and just got my secondary for TC two days ago. I know this is a long shot, but I have an interview with Mayo on September 12th. Do you think there is any way if I finish my secondary extremely quickly I can ask them for a possible interview consideration around that same time? Or would that just be offensive? Thanks for the help!!

Can you call Mayo and ask them to also give me an interview? lol congrats on the interview. And as far as your question your guess is just as good as mine
 
Is anyone still waiting on a secondary? My primary was verified in mid June without my MCAT. MCAT has been in since August 12. Getting anxious and impatient hah
 
Has anyone who received a II last week heard back about confirmation dates yet? Thinking about giving them a gentle poke today.
 
Just heard back confirming my date. I emailed them on Aug 20th to confirm for any of the 4 dates (sept 19,22,26,29) They'll get back to you soon i'm sure. Most likely today.
 
Just got my secondary from TC, but I'm definitely not filling it out. I think I've learned my lesson to not apply OOS to public schools with a LizzyM score of a 68.
 
It's been 12 days since the last batch of IIs. Hopefully some of us will hear something tomorrow or Thursday?
 
Secondary to TC finally received!! I have been complete for over a month, and waiting has been awful!
