2015-2016 George Washington University Application Thread

Wow II this morning!! Complete 7/31 when my committee letter got submitted. I never went through all of the status changes on my application like some people. It went from the "you are complete we have everything" status on Friday to "under review" this morning. I then got the email for an II about an hour ago!
My numbers aren't anything special, but my overall application is pretty solid.
3.32cum/3.22s and 30.

You give me hope!

You give me hope!

Well I'm glad! I'm also a re-applicant who didn't get an II last time around.

Edit: I didn't get an II from this particular school. I got 3 II's last time and 3 waitlists, none of which worked out obviously haha

Has anyone who has had the "under review" status NOT received an II (i.e., received a rejection, not necessarily that you haven't heard yet)? It seems like everyone who has gotten that status has heard good news after it?

I had that last week, as of this morning I'm now on hold. Complete 7/13 on the status page, though I think they didn't get my last letter until 7/31.

I'm PRETTY sure I had that status last week, anyway. Wishing I wrote it down now because I'm second guessing myself a little.

So if we're on hold for rereview does that pretty much mean game over?

Has anyone been outright rejected already or has everyone just been placed in the re-review hold if they didn't offer an II?

Yeah I'm interviewing then as well. Those shootings are scaring me.
Consider the actual distribution, though. There's been an uptick in violent crime district-wide but on their maps, none of those are right around GWU where you'd need to be walking. DC's got some areas with a lot more violence than the area around GWU; where you'd need to be there's a lot more people traffic and a pretty hefty law enforcement presence, too.

Also interviewing 8/28. Pay attention to the crowds around you and don't zone out on the metro; aside from that, it might not be the best idea to explore at night. Like @coatiboti said, the GWU area will hopefully be safer than the downtown and Capitol Hill hotspots.

Yeah, I'm just a little worried because I am staying in Shaw. I'll be there for the whole weekend so if I go out at night I just might take an Uber to/from my place.

How long were you on re review? I have been on there for like a month

So I'm new to this forum, and I made the mistake of traveling until this week. Do you think it's too late for me to reply to the secondary and submit my 2ndary application today? I'd be thankful for any and all advice. 🙂

That's more reassuring. Thanks

On hold for re-review. Could have happened any time over the last 10 days, but I just noticed it now. Complete 7/31.

Ugh, I feel like I have been on re-review forever! I am starting to lose hope.

Applying with a 3.6 ugpa, and 515 mcat (93rd percentile). Chances? No clue... I hate not knowing how things will go with the new mcat! Anyone with II's already apply with new mcat scores?
