Has anyone else gotten an updated portal but hasn't heard back???

Nope, just this: "Your interview has been completed. We thank you for visiting us and for your interest in our program."
What does your portal say?

So if we didn't get a call yesterday, that means we won't get an answer until Feb 15 and we're on a hold/waitlist right now?

I feel like a ton of people didn't get a call yesterday, especially compared to the Oct. 15th group...maybe more calls today?

I wouldn't be surprised if fewer people got accepted this time around. The people who interview early are usually pretty stellar candidates, so it would make sense that more of them get accepted.

FYI, the person who called me and told me about my acceptance said that they are in the process of updating their portal system and that application status probably wouldn't update for a few days.

I would assume that's the case. I didn't get a call and I'm just going to wait a couple days to see what my application status on the portal is going to say.

I called earlier and was told that they are still making calls, I suggest one of you check with them just to make sure

My portal has been updated. Looks like I've been waitlisted.

I'm glad that I have now gotten all of my decisions and can move onto deciding where I will attend next year. Congratulations to all who were accepted at Loyola!

Waitlisted as well. I'll probably withdraw my application, can't really see myself attending this school.
Congrats to all those accepted and good luck to everyone else!

Edit: took me about 30 seconds to make up my mind lol just withdrew my application.

Also waitlisted. Kind of expected this sort of result in a way.

Since this month's decisions are out now, whats does that mean for the next wave of II's? Are they in anyway correlated as in the time lines?

What is the message for waitlist? Is that different that the "Your file will receive additional consideration throughout the cycle..." message?

No, I think we all just assume that to be a waitlist. Since the message says that we aren't getting accepted right now, but they will also be looking at us later, I think we're all interpreting it as a waitlist.

Joining the waitlist club... Although now it doesn't feel so bad seeing that many well qualified applicants on this thread were waitlisted as well. Good luck to everyone!

Same here, checked my portal after reading this thread and waitlisted too. Will also be withdrawing. Good luck to those still waiting for decisions or II.

Got the call about an hour ago! So there is hope for you all that haven't heard yet or had a portal change! I interviewed early Nov.

Portal has changed!

EDIT: Dumb question..what's the self-evaluation thing? Is it mandatory? I am finding myself totally overthinking it while filling it out...

Wait listed as well. I felt like I had a really great interview experience and my interviewers seemed to be telling me that they wanted me at the school, so I'm wondering if I'm absolutely crazy and it was all in my head.

Exactly the same experience, not sure what happened

I feel like most interviewers want to make you comfortable, so they will try to be as warm and inviting as possible. This is not to say that they would act super optimistic if you actually did terrible, just that a warm response from an interviewer is probably more an indication that they're trying to be friendly and inviting than an indication that you are for sure getting accepted.

Definitely agree with this statement. I felt that my interview went fine but I didn't want to be super optimistic about getting an acceptance since that could've just been the interviewer wanting to make me feel comfortable in that space.

Also, quick question for those of you also waitlisted. If you are planning to send them an update, would a letter of intent be okay to submit using their "update document" function on the portal? I've heard that a letter of intent is different from an update letter (which is where you just tell them about new courses you've taken, new activities, etc. versus a letter of intent includes reiteration of one's interest in attending if accepted). To me, their "update document" section sounds like it's just for an update letter.

I submitted a combined update and letter of interest through the portal right before I was accepted in September. Not sure if that helps! And waitlist isn't a bad thing-- at my interview, they said that they were offering seats all the way 'til June for the last cycle.

I feel like what gets considered to be a silent rejection, is usually not the case. I do feel that a lot of schools hold on to applications until the point they realize they won't be able to offer a candidate an interview spot. Which can be late in the long cycle. I feel like schools are often continually reviewing open candidates for those spots.

Can it indicate relative competitiveness in the applicant pool at a certain point after completion? Maybe. Does it indicate an outright uncommunicated rejection? In most cases, probably not.

How does it benefit a school to silently reject? I've heard some people say, to defer questions regarding rejection. ...

Instead they get status update questions and they probably get rejection questions later anyway. Plus, the schools can just say that feedback is not available and put an end to that.

The whole silent rejection worry doesnt make much sense to me.

I agree with the points you made. I guess what I am curious about is if anyone has posted that they have received a rejection thus far.

people have been switched to have been reviewed. That seems like it would be more final than still under review but who knows with this whole process

what this is feeling like....under review for 3+ months

Has anyone sent them a message to ask? I feel like this is something they should be able to answer.

lol, no wonder. I guess thats another to add to the reject pile
I got a different response when I called. They said if your portal says "under review" still, that means you're still in the running. If you got, "has been reviewed", that means they've made an initial review and are holding on to your application through the spring.

Looking back at last year's thread, the same thing seems to have been true as well.

Current M2 here. We just finished finals so I wanted to throw in another reminder for the newcomers that I'm happy to answer questions about the school and application process!

When can we expect a physical letter in the mail? And are there things in there we would need to turn in and mail in asap? I'm going to be visiting my parent's home from Xmas to New Years, and if there's a mail-in deadline for anything, I want to make sure things end up where they need to go 🙂

The letter took about a week longer to receive than they had originally told me. And as excited as i was to receive mine, it's a rather underwhelming letter (one page, smudge marks from the printer 🙂 ). The things you do need to respond to are on the portal itself, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about!
