question about LOR requirement for graduate students:
Based on this statement from the secondary: One (1) letter of evaluation is required either from the Premedical Advisory Committee of your graduate program or an individual faculty member in your graduate department who has either taught you in a graduate class or supervised independent research for which you received graduate credit. A letter from a graduate science faculty member can substitute for one (1) undergraduate science letter.
Does the bolded part mean if I am a graduate student, I only need to submit:
1 UG letter from science prof
1 UG letter form non-science prof
1 letter from my graduate thesis supervisor ?
or is the letter from graduate supervisor in addition to the 3 UG professors?

Does anyone know how receptive NYMC is to someone without a letter of rec from a non science professor? I have 2 from science professors and one from the PI of my research lab. I have emailed 3 non science profs but haven't heard back yet from any of them.

For what it's worth, the admissions team told me that the CASPR is used in making interview invites!
Interesting. The one thing that is still kind of ambiguous is how exactly is it used? It could be used to weed out the roughly 5-10% of the applicant pool that likely has some severe issues with social interaction and interpersonal relations, it could be used to identify people who are truly exceptional at these things, or it could be used to kind of rank people with respect to these things (i.e. scale of 1-10 for social skills or something).
I think it's to gauge our understanding of medical ethics / ability to reason on limited time. Good point!
I agree that this is the reason in general, but I still kind of wonder how much emphasis is placed on this test. Basically, do they want to know about our medical ethics understanding and ability to reason on limited time in order to rule out people who are very bad at it or in order to identify people who are very good at it?
Won't those happen at the same time though? It seems like a primer to the MMI, which is the real deal, so probably to find the best at the MMI?
Since this is the first year, none of us really know how they will interpret the data. They could say: "Anybody who scores below X will be thrown out. Everybody else is still in, with no preference for higher scores." They could say: "People who scored above Y and have good stats are getting the first interviews. Everybody else gets reviewed later on, with no distinction between scores below Y." They could say: "Your score on this test will be a component of our review, just like primary, secondary, MCAT, GPA, etc. A high score will help, a low score will disqualify you, and a score close to the middle doesn't do anything one way or another for you." I don't think we really know which of these they're going with.
Did anyone else freeze on the second video?
Mine told me I was done after the second video...is that right? Seemed too short

Well this makes me think it has affected a lot of us. I've emailed them so all we can really do is wait and see
Casper told me I would get 12 scenarios but I only got 4 and then they told me i was done. Did this happen to anyone else?

I'm stuck too! he first time I was able to proceed to the first video but it stopped. Now I can't even get past the video test page.....
Happened to me too. Total BS. I'm on a long roadtrip and structured the whole trip around being at a Starbucks at 2PM today

Mine said I was 100% complete after maybe 4 modules. I contacted the CASPer people through that little "?" in the bottom right corner and they said it might be a connection error. They are rescheduling me for 8pm tonight. FANTASTIC
How much of a disadvantage will it be to take CASPer in August?

Hey guys, I just saw question #6. I know I shouldn't, but I'm going to share it with you guys, since it's not our fault Casper can't run their shiite properly. It's actually a multiple choice question.
6) What do you do if you took a bunch of people's money and can't deliver your product on time?

Should I submit my secondary now? Or wait until I take CASPer? Or does it not matter at all?
Should we just leave blank the questions we've already seen? Not sure how to handle that...

Am I the only one who made it through all 12 sections of casper...
This is such BS I'm at a loss for words, at least those that aren't curse words. Not only do they botch this up, but they refuse to be flexible with letting us retake this test before August. I gave them their pound of flesh, but still I will not be complete at NYMC until late in the cycle because of this joke.
I didn't get anything. I just returned to the testing page and it says my test is running. Hopefully that means i'm done?

All I got was: "We will contact you soon to move forward with rescheduling."
A+ organization if you ask me....
I have the same message. I assume that's because the test window is still running, and that when the test window closes, we will get confirmation the test is complete.
I don't understand why you can't take the test when you bloody well please. Its not like its in a test center.
