did your application portal change? additional info tab?

When I checked my application portal right after getting the email, I saw the additional info tab (I think they sent the email and changed the portal at the same time because there was nothing when I checked my portal about an hour before getting the email).

You got your acceptance via e-mail? they told us at the interview they were going to send out snail mail - I guess not?

Any accepted students hear about aid packages yet / know if there is a portal where we can check that?

At second look today they said they are releasing it the week of April 11th

Has anyone from the end of January heard back yet? I'm at 10 weeks and haven't heard anything yet. Hoping for something this week.

I interviewed the second week of Feb and was put on post-II hold.

As for the waitlist, the 25 might be the # of students in the starting class that were pulled from the waitlist (they are self-reported numbers and school can interpret what is being asked for how they please). It would be a tremendous waste for them to interview over 900 people when they only utilize 25 people on the waitlist. Sounds a little odd to me

For those who attended the last interview, did they provide you with any information on when you should expect to hear back? I would assume Penn State would try and provide us with a decision by April 30.

they said 6-8 weeks or April 30th whatever comes first.

So that means people who interviewed from the last two months are also going to hear back in the next couple of weeks? That's a lot of people to review at once considering what their schedule has been like so far.

Does anyone know if acceptance notifications are received via email, mail or "additional info tab" first? Also, if rejections/holds are notified via email or mail?

Can people who attended second day comment on whether they talked about the design partner program for medical school curriculum and how they plan to choose the students who will participate?

I first got the "additional info" tab and then about a week later got my acceptance in the mail. They don't send any acceptance-related emails until later, although I was accepted in September so it could be different by now.

Based on the pool of currently accepted students, they already chose a handful to go to State College and interview for the SDP positions. They are letting us know who they offer them to on Friday. Unfortunately I think the application process has closed on that front.
I also agree to this.

Usually they're sent by snail mail, but there was a person in this thread who was accepted on 3/25 by email so it may be at the stage now where people will find out by email.

It also seems, just based on reading the thread, that the additional info tab was something that was appearing early on in the cycle but they perhaps fixed that from showing up before people found out they were officially accepted. I think rejections/holds are also sent by email.

Jan. 13 interview, post interview Hold! via email.

I will be withdrawing from this school though - good luck everyone!

Congrats to everyone and best of luck to those still waiting. I was wondering if anyone can post the link to the Facebook group (I hear its Penn State College of Medicine Class of 2020 but i cant find it). Thanks in advance!

People who were accepted by e-mail - did you guys show interest in the regional campus program?

also CONGRATS!

I did fill out that section my application, but I didn't hear anything back from them about it. I assume that I was not accepted into that program.

Anyone still waiting on post-interview decision from February?

Can we pay the deposit through the mail along with the acceptance form? or is there a way to pay it online? Thanks

Post-II hold, interviewed Dec 9. I would really love to go here. Unsure about waitlist rankings.

There will probably be a good amount of wait list movement very soon. I accepted a position to be a student design partner for the upcoming 2016-2017 academic year and deferred my acceptance to 2017 (required if you are chosen as a partner and accept the position) today. I believe they chose around 8-10 partners, could be a little more or a little less not quite sure. I know they asked if we could respond by April 15, 2016 in order to let Hershey know and thus start filling in our spots. So there is still a lot of hope!!

Week 11 of post-interview silence. I don't know what this means. Anyone get good news after waiting this long?

Interviewed March 9th, placed on the post-interview hold list.

I have a few questions:
1) Is the "post-interview hold list" what becomes their wait list? Or does this mean they are not sure yet whether or not to accept, reject, or wait list me? I assume the former, but I am not sure.
2) Will they accept a letter of intent now? Or do I need to wait until April 30th?
3) I have seen people say about 25 people come off the wait list, when can we expect wait list movement? Mid-May up until orientation? Does most of the movement happen early/late?

Thanks for whatever information anyone has! Good luck to those still waiting, and congrats to those accepted here or elsewhere!

Hey I interviewed the same day and haven't heard back yet, did you just get an email today about the hold list?

1) Yeah the waitlist and hold list are the same thing.

2) I think you're supposed to wait until April 30th for that but I'm not sure.

3) Maybe a bit earlier than mid-May since people have to decide by April 30th on one acceptance but that timeline of Mid-May->Orientation seems correct. I would think most movement would happen earlier on compared to later but I guess waitlist movement depends on all the other schools' waitlists and where people want to go. One good thing about Penn State starting so early is that you won't be possibly waiting into late July/ early August for a final decision.

Yes, I just got an email this morning! And waiting to submit a letter of intent on April 30th makes sense, anyone know more specifically about that? Ideally I'd prefer to submit that as soon as possible.

Good luck!

Hey I actually just got the same hold list email 🤔 , now I have the same question about a LOI.

Good luck to you too!

edit: Actually I was just reading the email more closely and it states "You should be aware that a subsequent decision will be based on the information presently contained in your file with the exception of updated official transcript records." So I guess this means they don't accept LOIs?

That's a good point. Reading that was what made me think LOIs had to wait until April 30th when the 'hold list' becomes the wait list, if that is the case.

I tried asking my student host about LOIs but he said he didn't know whether or not they helped and he didn't know anyone off the top of his head who got in off the wait list. Not sure if anyone else stayed with a host but it may be a good idea to ask, I feel like there's a lot of us who really want to know if they help or not.

I think whether they help or not does not really matter. I think if you really want this place and you want to express that what every arbitrary assigned value this community can come up with, even if it is nothing, about its value should not stop you from submitting.
