Has anyone been able to change their password from the default?

@swolebrah I wrote about loving the outdoors (el paso is great for hiking). I also wrote about improving my Spanish. A friend of mine goes to school there, so I also talked about her experience. She told me that the hospital there has CRAZY cases just because of the location; so I talked about that, too (Mexicans cross the border with end-stage cancer or other random things that they need care for, one guy had worms in his brain from eating raw pork, etc). There's also a military base nearby, so you could mention that you look forward to working with a diverse group of people, etc.

I appreciate you helping me out, this is definetly some good insight that I will use to get started on the secondary!

To piggyback of @swolebrah ....... I was born in Las Cruces and still have a lot of family in the area, would this be a good central topic to answer "why our school?" or is that lame?

Not sure @swivelj, it seems like that prompt really wants you to address the mission of the school.

I would bet there is a way to weave in your geographical ties, but I have the feeling that it should not be the central theme.

Ya agreed... I guess I am having issues with the prompt because I don't really have any experiences with research/ seeing 3rd world patients. I can say I love xyz about the school, but that seems empty if I havent had any prior experience to back those up.

My main tie to El Paso is that when my parent's entered this country they came through Juarez.

I think any "true" reason why you want to attend the school is a good reason. Adcoms can see through "I really want to attend so and so SOM because the mission statement accurately reflects my beliefs..." Etc. Better to write something that is true than to BS the entire essay.

To those who have submitted their secondary, does it show that LOR have been received? (All 3 bullets have a green check instead of a red exclamation point?)

Yup - does yours not?

And for reference, does anyone know what part of this screen changes for status updates?

Yeah my letters of reference are red, I'm guessing since my third letter in TMDSAS has not been received yet. Still waiting on that doc to send it in :/

Thanks for the answer, just needed to clarify that.

No problem, I am happy to hear that mine looks correct! Hope he sends it for you soon.

Anyone gotten any IIs from here yet? It seems this time last year they had started giving out IIs. Please keep us updated if you do!

Quick question. So I'm a reapplicant here and have not received a secondary invite here since being submitted on 05/29. I am still able to use my previous year's login info to access a new secondary application. Should I just wait for the invite or just go ahead and submit using my previous login? I just emailed them today about this but have yet to get an answer.

Why don't you call them since it's an auto invite for secondary and tell them about your situation.

I've tried, but it doesn't allow me to speak with anyone. It just gives me a list of their admissions staff and their extensions. When I get transferred to each of their staff members, no one answers. I just decided to email so I wouldn't be a bother. Can I just utilize my previous login?

I think you should try that and see what happens.

Did anyone receive an "Under Review" or "Application Complete" email from this school?

The school has an amazing program! I prematched, but I will be attending another school. Let me know if you guys have any questions about the process. I am happy to help!

No sir. Just got the confirmation e-mail after I finished the secondary. I think both Tech schools consider that the complete e-mail. I called Texas Tech (Lubbock) to ask them and they said once you finish that secondary, you are done. By the way, I don't think Lubbock has even started reviewing apps yet. Just a hunch.

Sorry to thread-jack, but care to elaborate on this? I've been very curious since last year their first round of II was 6/6...

Anyone else get this message when trying to pay the secondary application fee?
"Failed to obtain a ticket from Touchnet."

I submitted my secondary about 10 days ago. Hope that's not too much of a disadvantage 🙁

Did any other round of interviews go out apart from that of July 14?

4)Please describe any personal experiences or disadvantage (educational, financial or otherwise) and their significance to you in your pursuit of a medical degree. If not applicable, please so indicate. (300 words or less)

Is this where we should address a disadvantage that negatively affected our pursuit in med school (like circumstances that resulted in bad grades) or is this more like a financial disadvantage motivated a person to help the under-severed in medicine type essay?

Thanks!

I went with circumstances that resulted in a bad grade seeing as I wanted them to know there was an explanation for it.

Ok, good! That is what I needed to do as well. Thanks!

Did anybody else get an secondary invite via email? I didn't fill it out earlier because I am OOS, but I'm debating whether I really have a chance here or not. Was it just a mass reminder email kind of thing?

I got a secondary invite by email the day my TMDSAS app was processed, so I think it's a standard email

Congratulations zjyoug! That was a quick turn around.

Can you share for what date your interview was scheduled?
