DId the adcom just not meet yesterday? Why haven't we heard anything? 🙁
 
LOL. I thought surely after this Thursday I would change from "applicant in process" to something.. SOMETHING!!! but. Alas. I think when I check my status two years from now I will still be in process. +pissed+
 
I'm happy for everyone with great news. I just hope a spot is left for me. 🙂

I would have screamed and then cried, but I'm at work, and we have an open plan office....

To be fair, there's no way I'm going to get anything done now though, so we'll call it an even trade!

I interviewed 10/12 in Urbana. Originally I was scheduled to interview in December, but a last minute cancellation allowed me to move up my interview to October.

Ah sorry! I was under the assumption that you interviewed the same day as me...I got you mixed up with another user who's in the same boat as me. I'm still at decision pending and if I had an acceptance elsewhere I would withdraw by now but sadly that is not the case 🙁

🙁 I'd see if you can email anyone in admissions who was at your interview day. That's what I did, and I at least got confirmation that my application was going to be reviewed this month. Maybe yours has just been missed out or something. I'm going to keep all my fingers crossed for you!
 
Are these rolling out slowly today? Or did most decisions happen this AM?

Haha thanks! I tried emailing the adcom member who interviewed me but I got no response and I don't think calling is going to help since they don't know anything. I'm just really worried that my application was added to the candidate who interviewed before me since halfway through the interviewer was like "woops I'm looking at the wrong file" but then continued to add notes to that same page... >___> Idk if it's not meant to be, then it's not meant to be. There is no coincidence in this world and everything happens for a reason. //crosses fingers for an acceptance elsewhere at least :whistle:

In the past, they've tended to come out over several hours. I'm not sure when my came out for sure, as I was in meetings until 11am, but it definitely happened this morning. I checked last night around 7pm and I was still "Decision pending".
 
I just logged into my my.uic.edu page and for some reason the UIC Connect tab is no longer there. is anyone else having this issue? Thanks!

Has anyone been rejected pre-interview or does it say applicant in process until the end of interview season?

No, there are definitely pre-interview rejections. I believe at least one person has gotten one this year, and I know they've happened in years past.

Hi,

I am also having an issue. However, I can see the UIC Connect tab, but within it, it has an "Oracle Automation error."
 
so having that additional correspondence tab is equivalent with good news or could we get a letter in the mail with less positive info? I'm asking b/c i have the tab and trying not to get prematurely excited based on all the congratulatory posts

I called Fri morn and they said they sent it already. Also, it's through standard mail, so it may take a little time.

Anyone get the CBC email? Heard that takes 1 week +?

And anyone else have a feeling it's going to be a small envelope? Or habitually check the status website to see if additional correspondence is actually there and not imagined? God, I wish the mail would come already....

No CBC email here. And I'm super paranoid that I'm gonna get a rejection, despite the additional correspondence tab... I really hope they have sent the letters; if I have to wait until next week to find out I'm going to cry.

So "applicant in progress" since God knows when! My application was complete in mid-September and it says on the applicant check link that they received my application in late October! Is that supposed to happen? I am concerned that they messed up my application... 🙁
 
This might be a stupid question, but do all accepted applicants who reserve a spot for themselves get log-in information for my.uic.edu? I keep getting housing emails from the Chicago campus so I know they know I'm planning on going there, but I haven't received anything about the my.uic.edu website.

I emailed them about this last week because I was accepted in October and still haven't received any portal information. They told me you need to complete some of the requirements such as sending transcripts and registering to report your medical immunizations (both of which I have done). After this, you should get an email by this spring. It seems inconsistent because I've completed all the steps and haven't gotten one while others have but I'm sure everyone will get one by the spring. There's no rush anyways
 
WARNING: Extremely neurotic (like if we all aren't at this point, (at least for those that have zero acceptances) but anyway):
So are we mildly sure that the additional correspondences tab is still a good indicator of acceptance? Anyone got that additional correspondences tab on status page and eventually get a rejection letter? Please let there not be anyone out there who this applies to?
Similarly, not to be brash but has everyone who has received a rejection letter thus far not had the additional correspondences tab on their status page?

I've trawled through the past few cycle threads, and have only found one instance 4 or 5 years ago.

And since so many assume it is an acceptance, one would figure the reporting rate for a false positive would be super high, especially on SDN, which makes the lack of complaints a good thing. And others have said it hasn't failed to predict acceptances this cycle.

We'll see, but most likely it is an acceptance. Just a short wait for the mail...

Same here. I called Fri morn and they said they sent it already, and another person said that it arrived for them on the following Monday. This has been the longest 2-3 days... I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack everytime I go home.

And I was rejected from the waitlist last year, so I have a few trust issues heh

I am totally with everybody on the anxiety scale being at 100!
Anyway called today and was told decision was mailed yesterday, I would imagine that would apply to anyone who was reviewed at 1-22 adcom meeting but who the hell knows? All I know is please please please, USPS don't fail me now. Come onnnnnnnm!! So I'm in Urbana-Champaign. If if shipped yesterday afternoon should I even think of it coming today or just accept it won't be today and "patiently" (WTF is patience at this point in the game) wait and put all my anxiety in for tomorrow? Lol. But seriously. Is it Possible to come from Chicago Tuesday afternoon and get in Urbana (about 2.5 hours away) on Wednesday.

Remember we're all in this crazy ****ed up waiting game together...we can do it! SO CLOSE!!

Also not to be the bad guy here but just to give you some realistic info.
So since you interviewed in mid December, they reviewed your file at the December meeting. Now, since you're still decision pending, that means they weren't quite sure of you. They didn't want to reject you otherwise you would have "final decision made" and would have by now received a small rejection letter in the mail.

On the other hand, they didn't like you enough to accept you at that particular meeting. So, now this is where it'd nice to have some more experienced, knowledgeable people confirm this/correct me if I'm wrong but here goes: I'm not sure if your app is re-reviewed at every adcom meeting after yours OR they put in a stack of basically "maybes, not sure) and then review all those once all direct acceptances have been sent out and they're starting to have an idea of how many more offers they need to send based on others declining their acceptance etc. so that's my 2 cents


If I were you I would call the admissions office and then press zero (0). This will connect you to a wonderful woman named Liz blanking on last name but basically just tell her you interviewed more than a month ago and am still is decision pending. Like I said she is soooo nice and sooo patient and super helpful, she might actually be a Saint. i don't know how many times I've called that poor woman to bug her about this or that but every single time she is helpful, patient, and most of all respectful and courteous (which if you haven't learned yet, you soon will, those 2 qualities are becoming more and more rare) but anyway just talk to her: ask all your questions and clarifications etc,etc. she will give you the info you need. Anyway sorry for long post bud I know what it's like to be in your shoes. But anyway I hope it helps!

Wondering some things...1. Is the hepatitis B form the same as that online thing we have to do where we send our immunization records?
2. How long does it take for them to process transcripts? If I need to take something before I enroll I would like to know soon so I can get that done.
