I can't wait to meet all the accepted students during SLW! For the difficulty and stresses that come with being a medical student, I was very impressed with the quality of life of the medical students.
I would also be leery of the post above that talked about a controversy with the new curriculum. Beware that this suggests that there are contentious problems with the curriculum. Anecdotal reports of med students complaining is not a strong argument for a controversy. Considering these complaints may be non-existent or if they poster is being truthful, it may be a very small sample of kids complaining relative to the entire student body that would experience these changes. What did they complain about specifically? A lot of the students I talked to during my interview either had no clue or said it that we would be fine with changes. Remember, a school as high quality as Michigan is not going to set students up for failure. Also, as in any situation, your success if a largely a function of your drive and motivation. As long as the resources are available you will be fine.
