How long did those with IIs wait for a confirmation email? I'm now at ~2 weeks and getting a bit concerned. Sent a follow-up email last week and no response to that either.

I'm wondering about this too!! I'm going to need to switch work shifts around depending on which date I get so hoping they get back to me soon!

This physically pains me. Buddy, I hope you have some killer stats because they probably just auto sent you that email so they could get your money. Yes they do prescreen apps, and unless you're a Kennedy or your dad was Walt Lillehei, dont anticipate a secondary app any time soon. It took about 8 weeks for me to get mine. Also, the damn thing is more like a manifesto than a supplement. I suggest you go back in this thread to find the prompts and write your essays now.

Sorry to crush your dreams mate. Personally, I've wasted a prodigious amount of time and money playing this game. Can't give up though!

If you haven't heard back yet - be persistent and keep calling! it's easy to fall through the cracks at the U.

Finally just got a confirmed interview date after submitting my date preferences two weeks ago!

I am an out-of-state student with no connections to Minnesota. I just want to know if this is just them wanting more donations, or if they really are considering me. I don't want to waste money on a place if it's just a donation thing.

Tough call. They did the same thing to me. Things to consider: your stats, some people had much faster turnarounds then you, many people had the same turnaround time, people have already been accepted into MN, don't know unless you try.

Personally, I made the donation.

I agree with @bioboi33. I tend to believe with the length of their secondary, they are really looking holistically and it's worth the donation.

@DocHopeful1 - BUT you should ensure that you can REALLY explain why you desire to attend the University of Minnesota. If it's just that you're a good match stat-wise, it might be better to keep your money.
That being said, this is a great school with LOTS to offer.

Haha MN is the slowest at getting apps processed. I saw students interviewing here in March last year.... so just think.. you could be interviewing here when the snow melts. 🙂

On Oct 1 my SO forgot her phone, and called from a coworkers. The unknown # came up when she called me, I answered with my heart in my throat...and then I heard her voice.

I actually missed the real call because the lab I'm in is a cell service dead zone.

I happen to be at work at a hospital right now and I took my pulse for funsies after the phone call. My usual RHR of 55 is elevated to 120. You could say I'm a little excited

I think that they said we could expect 3-4 weeks for review, but that no decisions would be revealed before October 15.
