II just now, complete 9/25, OOS, LizzyM ~68 (new MCAT)
According to MSAR, UMN interviewed 197 out of 3137 (6.3%) of OOS applicants and 492 of 832 (59.1%) of IS applicants.Does anyone happen to know the stats of how many OOS applicants are offered an interview? I can't seem to find that information anywhere.
Accepted to the UMN - Twin Cities Medical School!!! It only took them 4 weeks post interview to get back to me, which was a great surprise since they had estimated that it would take 8-10 weeks. I think the only people more excited than me were my parents. Some of you could be hearing from them shortly.
Extra info: IS, median GPA/MCAT, solid 15 experiences, and interviewed mid/late November.
I feel ya, 9 weeks deep hereAlmost 10 weeks since I submitted my secondary. Glimpse of hope is slowly fading!
The University of Minnesota is closed both today and tomorrow, so I would imagine that they probably won't be sending anything out until Monday. Sorry!Think they email decisions on xmas eve?? I'm almost 12 weeks deep....
When did you get the call??
Congratulations! When did you interview? I did on 11/24. Thanks.I think it was mid-afternoon on Tuesday, December 22nd.
Thank you. I also interviewed on 11/24, so there's a chance we met in person!Congratulations! When did you interview? I did on 11/24. Thanks.
Thanks for the info. That's possible. I am a little bit concerned...Thank you. I also interviewed on 11/24, so there's a chance we met in person!

Yes. I agree that makes sense. DrFry is luck and that's really good for him.Looking at previous forums it seems that four weeks is really quick to hear back post-interview with UMN. I'm guessing maybe they are very interested in DrFry and this is the reason for the quick decision?
It would seem weird that everyone who gets accepted from that interview date would hear in four weeks when it seems like other interview cohorts have had a longer timeline for acceptance.
Interviewing there on Jan 25th...can anyone who has interviewed at UM-TC this cycle give any tips or advice on the interview? Is it relatively stress-free? Any walking around outside (it'll be cold, so I need to plan my outfit too)? Did your interviewers throw any curveballs or try to grill you?
This is my first MD interview this cycle and one of my top choice schools, and as an OOS applicant, I really want to make sure I am as prepared as possible!
Would anyone recommend sending an update with grades for the semester and new activities? I already interviewed in November
When or how do they let you know you are on the wait list? Thanks.Anyone know when they let people on the wait list know about the initial acceptance/rejection/ranked alternate list decision? I would assume it's after interview season is finished, but some other schools have already been pulling off the wait list mid-interviews.

Interviewed today. Absolutely loved the school and the people. Both my interviews were extremely pleasant and enjoyable. Only bad part is waiting 8-10 weeks for a decision. We were told at the end of the day 10 weeks was most likely!
Do you happen to know the statistics of the number of interiewees that are offered acceptance? I'm OOS, haven't been able to find that those numbers on the websiteI was told 10 weeks as well, but found out in December around the 6-7 week mark. I would plan on 10 weeks because they're probably falling behind, but you never know!

From USN&WR, 300 OOS interviewed, 120 accepted, 38 enrolledDo you happen to know the statistics of the number of interiewees that are offered acceptance? I'm OOS, haven't been able to find that those numbers on the website
Thanks much. They let you know you're on the wait list via e-mail after your interview. You get a phone call if accepted or an e-mail if you're put on the wait list or rejected. I believe whatever the decision is it should come around the same time relative to when you interviewed. Post-interview decisions seem to be coming anywhere in the 4-8 week range after your interview.
Did they tell you when they started doing this? I'm just asking this because I'm curious if those who interviewed on December are affected.I interviewed last week and was told that they are not offering anymore acceptances for interviewees. Now everyone will be put on the waiting list subject to rank. Good luck everyone.

Wait do you mean they aren't accepting any more people at all? Or that people that interview in January will be put on a waitlist? Please elaborate.I interviewed last week and was told that they are not offering anymore acceptances for interviewees. Now everyone will be put on the waiting list subject to rank. Good luck everyone.
Things I don't believe, posts like this from someone with only 2 total posts. Esp. when his last post was inquiring about this...I interviewed last week and was told that they are not offering anymore acceptances for interviewees. It seems super weird. But what kind of sicko would make things up like this?Things I don't believe, posts like this from someone with only 2 total posts. Esp. when his last post was inquiring about this...
