2015-2016 University of Texas - Galveston Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I logged into my UTMB webmail a couple of days ago and noticed that I had exceeded my 2000 MB limit and that I needed to re-validate my mailbox. I don't want to have to constantly deal with hitting this limit and re-validating, so I was wondering if it's possible to have email that arrives at my UTMB webmail to be automatically forwarded to my gmail account?

Do most of ya'll use UTMB's webmail?

Hey, I would just be careful because I've gotten MANY weird emails and such on my UTMB email asking me to validate my information for many excuses like "system updates" and etc. From what others have said, the emails are spam/virus attempts.

So while I'm not sure how you got the message that you reached some data limit, it does not seem legit.

Idk how to forward your messages to gmail though!

Silly question: is our MySTAR ID our student ID number with UTMB? I think so, but I want to double-check.

Mothatruckas, you are looking at the screen name of SOMEONE WHO JUST GOT OFF THE WAITLIST INTO UTMB OMG I'M SO EXCITED YOU GUYS!!!

Congratulations! That's awesome! Welcome to the UTMB family!

FYI, for anyone who's still on the waitlist, send a letter of intent. That's what I did, and I just got accepted within 24 hrs.

Personally, I don't think that your letter of intent probably had too much to do with your acceptance (that was probably more of your GPA, MCAT, Interview performance, and application), but showing initiative is hardly ever a bad thing. Congrats!

I'm not sure. How many digits is this number? Is it 9 digits? Does it have three zeroes in front of it?

If no, then I don't think it's your student ID number. If yes, then it might be your student ID number.

Let me know if you have any more questions about medical school, UTMB, or whatever else you can think of. Once again, congrats!

This is delayed, but I was accepted on 6/8 by email! (They might have attempted a phone call, but I was out of country.) Late waitlist movement does happen!
