+1 Alternate List. Interviewed 10/21. Kind of surprised by the quick turnaround. Not doubting that they did a thorough evaluation but nonetheless shocked to hear a decision was made that quickly for all who interviewed last week.

It is never over until that R email comes in. though you may have made it more difficult for you
I don't think August is too late. I submitted 8/21, in review on 8/23 and accepted two months later. I'm in state, though. MSU reviews apps based on different priorities, including place of residence. So it might take longer to get to your app. Like the above poster said, you just have to keep waiting because it's not over yet.
Straight from MSU's website:
"Your application may be placed on HOLD FOR INTERVIEW DECISION. It is very common for applications to be held for an interview decision, for comparison to the larger applicant pool that evolves over the year. We receive newly verified applications from AMCAS through January; therefore, most applications that are held for an interview decision will be reviewed again in January. Please do not call the office if your status has not changed; as soon as a decision is made, your status will be updated. Our staff has no information beyond that listed on your CHM Applicant Portal status page."
Guess we twiddle our thumbs until January

I freaked out. Lol.
If there are any current M1s at MSUCHM on this forum, would you mind giving us some feedback on how the new curriculum is going? It sounds so cool but at the same time I'm not too sure of how it plays out without lectures.
Is the hold status different than the forwarded for review ?
Yeah, it's like "we want to compare you to a larger applicant pool" before making a decision about you. The people who have gotten II went right from prelim review to interview.
Also interviewd 10/21, still didn't hear anything

I think you're good, I submitted everything on 9/1 and got sent to review on 9/8 and got an II before mid October so in due time!
ACCEPTED! Got the call today at about 7:45 pm today! 🙂 Interviewed here on 10/28
You should get an email. If you've been waitlisted, your portal wont change.

Stats? I didnt know they rejected this early on
I can commiserate. I am sorry 🙁 I too was rejected from one of my state schools (MD/PhD) and I think it sucked (hurt) more than any other pre-interview rejection. If not this cycle, as I have to tell myself, next cycle I will be better and better equipped. Good Luck regardless!
II!! Do they just assign you a date ?
Yes.
Is this real tea
Guess I am not super high priority for them. But judging from this thread it seems like they may be holding seats for later IIs.

Why do you say you're not high priority?
Hey guys! I'm scheduled to interview at this school tommorrow and I just wanted to get a little feedback from those of you that have already interviewed here about the general vibes you got from this school on interview day. How friendly were the students and staff? What sort of enviornment do you feel you were interviewing in? Was it a little tense, or fairly friendly? Sorry for all the questions guys, I guess I'm just really nervous for tommorrow!

Was not expecting that.
Yeah, unsure if one is just as likely to get an acceptance if interviewing that late or if they don't front load like schools tend to do and one has an equal chance. Lots of WLs on this thread so it's hard to know one way or the other. Or its just a tactic for applicants who might matriculate else where based on scores.

Should I arrive at 7 for the interview since it starts at 730? What is the breakfast like ?

Their website says "Please be assured that the application process is specifically designed so that the time an application is reviewed for a final decision is not a factor in the decision. Seats in the entering class remain available through the end of the application cycle".
Last year their last interview day was in March and people posted that they were accepted.
I was complete early august. So I was in some sort of holding pattern.

My portal actually says "Hold" lol as in im on hold to be compared to a larger applicant pool. Similar to femmegoblue
Did you have the actual "hold" status?
I believe it said still waiting to be reviewed but had a line after that saying : may be held for comparison to larger pool.
Plus I submitted and was verified in early august and saw applicants complete after me receive IIs .
Oh woah that gives me hope! Best of luck. Well, in four months lol.
Yeah wow my spirits just lifted like crazy if that's actually what it said haha. We may have a chance!
I arrived a little after 730 when I interviewed last week. 730-8 is the check in period, the presentations don't get started until 8. The breakfast is continental style minus the waffle maker.

Got the II email today!!!!!! I'm crying!!! This school is basically my number one choice!
I think they just fill as they go. I got II mid Oct but my interview is early December so it's most likely just as they go
When is your date ?
