Yes!! She was so obviously trying to be stoic. Definitely threw me off at first. I finally rattled her when I started talking about her work and asking her questions abut it (I had googled all my interviewers when I got the schedule). She realized that she had been rattled and then went back to the gag - I was quite pleased with myself!

Although it was still objectively an abysmal interview, kept repeating myself and explaining things in a weird way - not having any feedback throughout a conversation makes you say strange things.

I thought so too, but that's why they take an average! Also I've had interview that seemingly went awful but supposedly went well (acceptance) so don't fret!

What's the consensus on the 2 day separation thing for accept vs. WL/reject?

Now that it's just faculty calling (they only emailed last year), I don't think that applies anymore. All emails will probably be sent out Friday regardless of status and we probably have to get a call by end of day tomorrow(?) to be one of the lucky ones

Whew, cool.

On a side note, I wonder what the world record time if for going through the stages of grief. I'd like to submit my name for consideration

agreed...even if i get a call its not worth the anxiety an email would do just fine
 
Anybody know the times these calls go out? West coast resident - been wondering if I should hope for something by 5 PM EST or if they keep calling for an hour after that mark.

Yea they said that all communication (acceptance, WL, rejections) will be sent out on Friday. Best of luck everyone!!!

My phone just rang for the first time since calls started going out but it wasn't even a New York number. WHY
 
To everyone still super anxious about receiving a phone call-- worry not. I have yet to receive a call and I'm like the cream of the crop of applicants.

lol jk I'm garbage and NYU knows it.

I also had a dream I missed a new york call and there was a super long voice mail congratulating me on my acceptance. I then woke up, checked my phone to see nothing, and was the grumpiest I have been in awhile. RIP NYU dreams

Isn't there a possibility that you could still be accepted Friday without a call tomorrow? I'm sure that a good number of faculty won't be able to get through their list...

Lol I've had this dream except it was getting rejected. I remember feeling super sad right when I woke up, but then hope returning to my heart when I checked my email and realized the truth...

Yeah I hate the phone call model. I probably hate it because I haven't gotten a single acceptance at a school that calls. So I've sat and watched other people get accepted without getting in myself way too many times haha

I know right!? At least when Chicago continued me they sent the email shortly after calls started going out so I didn't have to stare at my phone all day. I don't like this phone call business.
 
I missed a call from a NY number about 30 min ago, and no VM was left. This is KILLING me.
