I didn't get this option
That's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure cause I read posts earlier from people saying that you couldn't apply till you had already been acceptedAnyone can do this. If you log back into the portal you should see the option on the first page.

Secondary submitted 07/12 !
CA Resident! Good luck guys!
I think it's more that you can apply after you've been accepted, but you can also apply now.
I wish NYU would stop sending me emails that aren't an II, gives me false hope every time lol

"If you have taken any time off from your studies, either during or after college, please describe what you have done during this time and your reasons for doing so."
Is it just me or is this worded confusingly? Like if you've graduated from college how is that taking time off from studies? If I'm currently on a gap year do I answer this?
When they ask about non-academic accomplishments, does this include research? That is, can I talk about my research in this section?
See post #16Can someone post the secondary questions for this cycle? Thanks
The poster said those were from last year. Are this year's prompts the same?
Sorry I didn't see the bottom of the post that said they were last year's. Yep, they're the same. The poster said those were from last year. Are this year's prompts the same?

I was considering my accomplishment as my presentation of my results to a large group of people, overcoming my fear of public speaking. Would that be non-academic enough?

Do you have a diversity essay already prepped? I tweaked mine just a tad to fit their mission. I personally would not use a challenge essay for this prompt2º Question: the first one asks:
"The Admissions Committee uses a holistic approach to evaluate a wide range of student qualities and life experiences that are complementary to demonstrated academic excellence, strong interpersonal skills and leadership potential. What unique qualities or experiences do you possess that would contribute specifically to the NYU School of Medicine community?"
Could I potentially use a challenge essay I wrote for another school's secondary with more of a twist as to how it will increase my future success as a med student / physician??
p.s... NYU is one of my top choices, so I really don't want to screw this up.....
Anyone else not get a secondary email, but get that email about the twitter question and answer thing? I'm wondering if the email just didn't go through; LizzyM >80 here, so I doubt I was screened out..
Oh man it's already application time again.
I'm a 3rd year here -- halfway done with rotations.
Reply to this (so I get the little notification) if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them!
Question: Can students apply to NYU Med during their senior year?
I've noticed that on the website, it says that NYU SOM requires completion of undergraduate study and a baccalaureate degree. Does that mean prior to applying or prior to matriculation?
I'm still a junior in college, and I'm not sure if I want to take a gap year or not.
It looks like they rolled out right around this time according to the 2015-2016 thread.ANybody know when NYU sent out their first II's last year?
Prior to matriculation. You can apply to start right after you graduate, that's 100% normal.

Yes:
"This will inform you that we have received all forms and credentials required to complete your application. The Committee on Admissions will notify you as soon as any final action is taken."
Yall the 3 year md and residency program is literally the dream. does anyone know what it takes to get into it? all the past forums die out after md acceptances.
Congrats to you in particular m'lady!
