Have you guys setup your eRaider accounts? At the bottom of the home page, there's a section titled "Email Services." Under that, click "More Info." It will route you to a page with a link for the email: https://mail.ttuhsc.edu. Just log in using the same login as your eRaider account. I was able to do this the day they sent out the eRaider information.

I've set mine up already and that's my problem lol For some reason I don't have the option of "Email Services." I only see Common Services (Home and eRaider Password under that) and then HSC Services (Active Directory under that). I tried going to the link you provided directly also, but I get some error message that says my email cannot be found or is incorrect.

I received mine a few days ago. It was post marked on Feb. 2nd so you might want to call them.

I just received mine today! It was postmarked on Feb 6th -- also, the link that I received via email to the Facebook group didn't work either... I messaged Jacob Winters but no reply yet (I'm sure he's busy with other things)... anyway, I'm super excited to meet you guys & the rest of our class! ^_^

If anyone gets on the FB page message me, I have a different spelling on there so they may not find me

In the orientation packet it tells you the name of the group to search for, but I don't think anyone had found it
 
For those who were having trouble with your email, try again! I tried today and it was an available option now to set up email services.

Still no luck with the Facebook page here, but a link to create my email finally came up in my eRaider account. No emails though, so I don't think anyone is missing anything by not having it yet.
 
I had a friend who recently was also admitted. He was told that if your email for your Facebook is different than the one you provided for TMDSAS, that may be why the link is not working. He was able to change his email address, I'm assuming was sent the link again, and it worked. I don't know if you all maybe want to try that 🙂
 
I am still not sure about this school? Tech Lubbock was my first preference but I matched to El Paso. The step scores here concerns me. I have come to find out more than 5 second years repeated the class last year. I want to be excited but not sure how to feel about this...any comments. I am still waiting on some OOS schools.

Just wanted to say that every single med school has people repeat years. No med school is immune to that. I hope for you guys's sake that this thread doesn't turn into the troll A&M fiasco haha 🙄

It doesn't hurt to have a realistic and healthy discussion. I realize that we should be positive about the school we matched to and hope for the best.

No I get having realistic discussions. The A&M thread was far from that though. There were 4-5 people who just made their accounts trolling haha. Not saying you're trolling, just reminds me A&M. 😛 Also, how do you find out the exact number of people that repeated classes? I know the school has that data, and I know it's something all schools deal with, but how do you find out the real number?

Hahaha not sure why someone would troll unless they were rejected. I remember the adcom dean telling us the number of students repeating second year. Not sure if he meant to disclose that information but he spilled the beans while addressing a question in the anatomy lab during the campus tour.

Are you worried about its reputation, or your personal scores? My concern was the step scores, they were solid until they raised the class to 100 students, then the scores dropped. What encourages me was before they were taking people with low MCAT scores and turning it around to high step. Idk what happened once they raised the class size but I think it has more to do with the students. El Paso is typically ranked low bc well people don't want to move to El Paso, so they get students with lower GPAs and MCAT scores. It's a great school with a great curriculum, so if you put in as much effort here as you would have at Lubbock you should be great for step and have no problems passing all the classes.
 
And no FB for me either, I updated my email and even emailed the medical student council to add me, but still can't find it

Also, idk about you but just the in state vs OOS tuition makes me want to stay in Texas if you have an acceptance here

I got the link and I am now in the FB group. I tried to see how to add member to the group but it says it requires admin or moderator's permission. So I would suggest email Jacob Winters for that matter.
If there are any ways I can help, please let me know 🙂

I also like to think of all this school has to offer that could give you a leg up compared to schools with high step scores. Like if we come out being conversational in Spanish, or all the hands on clinical experience we will get here compared to big metro areas, or having our own research project, or working along the border with a unique patient population. I think your step score is a reflection of you and all these other things will make you stand out when applying to residency. But good luck with your desicion!!
 
Thanks! I emailed him and he was super helpful! He said he added me but I still get an error message with the link. I sent him another email, waiting to hear back from him, probably after the weekend is over. How many people have made it to the FB group?

Don't you guys have like super high board scores? I was sure that UTMB and UTSW are the top, and then TTEP is after?

They did until they raised the class size to 100, then it dropped below the national average

No problem. Probably about 50+ joined. I think there are like 8 administrators from MS1. You are not missing anything. People just basically introduce themselves.

Does anyone know how accurate the MSAR waitlist data is?
 
Has anyone who scanned in and emailed the acceptance form and curriculum standards form we were mailed received a response?
