"Unfair"? Lol aren't fundraising and laziness the only reasons most schools no longer review primaries before sending secondaries?

Well, I don't know if I'd call it laziness considering schools nowadays get like 10K apps, but profit is a reason, I think.
 
lol if they get 10k apps and they know they won't review this or that person then primary fee is enough to ask for. Medicine is the most expensive process I can imagine and it isn't going to get any cheaper.
 
Hey everyone! I applied here late in the cycle (Oct). It sounds like they have filled their interview slots? Do they send out formal rejections? Thanks!

Congratulations! I interviewed 10/11 too but haven't heard anything... IS, LizzyM~70. Probably not a good sign 🙁

Same here. IS with LizzyM 78. I assumed they would make decisions for everyone who interviewed that day so a little confused
 
After confirming the interview date, there were a few links for student hosts and information about the program. I accidentally closed that tab, but does anyone have those links? Thanks in advance!

I interviewed around then as well lol (LizzyM ~70). From previous threads, it seems like they send acceptances to their top picks first, and maybe keep the other interviewees' applications under consideration for re-review as they continue with the interview cycle? It's definitely a little unnerving to see acceptances go out to people from your interview day but I don't think that it really means much.

Congrats to all of the recent II's and acceptances!

I've heard the same thing about UNC - they periodically re-review candidates throughout the cycle. I personally know of people who interviewed early (September) and didn't hear back until December or later. Hang in there, it's a long cycle for sure! I hope y'all come out as my future classmates at the end of it 🙂

Just opened up the interview calendar. Looks like about 20 more interview dates just opened up including dates in Nov, Dec, Jan, and Feb! Good luck everyone! I hope everyone waiting for an interview hears good news soon!

that's amazing news! does anyone know if they will allow us to move up our interview date?
 
Also wondering if we can move up our interview date? I'm currently scheduled for late January and would love to move it up.

They said to wait until December 1st, we can't change the date right now.
 
I'm a little confused. When I open up the interview calendar, I don't see any new dates opened?

I see new dates in February, but none in Nov, Dec, Jan. Did these fill up over the weekend?
 
Hmm, maybe it was only 1-2 slots that opened up on those dates. If they gave out any invitations today, maybe these got snatched up. Or it was a glitch
 
Received an II today. OOS applicant. Complete early October. When I originally looked at dates Dec 19th was the earliest open date but 6 hours later everything had filled up until the last 3 weeks in February. Hope this helps

Thread has been eerily quiet for acceptances (none since 3 weeks ago). Looking at previous acceptances, it appears to be a Tuesday thing, so hopefully we see some movement today?

Two of my friends got in last Tuesday.. more acceptances I would expect next Tuesday. They both interviewed mid October - making a September interviewee sweat over here!

Do they make decisions every two weeks then?
 
Yeah that's how it has been so far.. in the past few years they've let people know every other Monday but I think this year it is every other Tuesday. My friends both got calls Tuesday and then an email saying their portal was updated Wednesday night. Hope this helps!! Sincerely, Neurotic premed

I'm a native NC resident and I go to UNC Charlotte. Anyone willing to help me out with looking at my unofficial transcripts and telling me their advice? It'd be much appreciated. I am a non-traditional student. I'm 26, currently transitioning out of engineering into a history program(it's what I actually prefer to do). I transferred a year ago form a community college with a lot of credits and just keep going from there. I have completed up to calc 3 and physics but none of the chem or bio classes yet. Chapel Hill is by far my number one school, and I plan casting a big net but still... one can hope. Anyone willing to look at my transcripts and give me their opinion feel free to respond!

It seems like all the acceptances so far have been phone calls on Tuesdays. Has anyone gotten theirs by mail? It looks like in previous years' threads that some got their (initial) notifications by mail. Also, do they call at all hours of the day or typically after the work day is over?
 
A friend of mine who interviewed mid November received an acceptance call this morning too (IS, amazing stats, amazing applicant overall)

I interviewed here mid October and have yet to hear :/ an acceptance to UNC is seeming less and less likely.
