Have those of you who got the very interested status a few weeks ago started to receive II's? Or are you still waiting?
 
Got the very interested status 8/16 and got the schedule interview tab today!!!!!!!
FYI, when you get the tab, you can only reschedule once, so keep that in mind.

First MD II everrr!!! LM ~65, reapplicant, Asian, complete 8/10, OOS, checked portal/no email

There has to be some sort of follow-up email right? Only got to schedule interview, but no other info provided.

Congrats! That's awesome. (Not sure about VCU, but UCSD waited until 2 weeks before the interview to email me follow-up info)
 
Rejected. No Email but saw the portal. Secondary submit 8/15 Bummer since I had alumni relationship.

Rejected via portal without an email. Not sure when. Completed 7/24, OOS. 3.95+ GPA, 513+ MCAT. I would've appreciated an email. I'm not going to babysit the portal for all of my schools.

I've had the "interested" status for about the same time period, but no II yet. Starting to wonder if my status will ever change!

I'm sure you'll get the II soon! I called a while back and it sounded like going from the very interested status to II was just a matter of scheduling on their end. Also just an fyi, a tab appears on the side of the portal for scheduling an interview but the status still stays the same.

So we'll have three tabs: Home, Interview, and Withdraw?

Does this mean I'm on hold? I already finished my MCAT almost a year ago and my transcript grades have been updated. But they don't specify what I'm on hold for. Anybody else got this status? I submitted 7/30 so it's been more than a month.

Just got the "Very Interested" status update today! Complete 7/15. Yayyyyy - I'd love to interview here. 🙂
 
Does anyone know if student hosts are available? Hotel info provided in interview info sheet is still pretty pricey. 🙁

Just noticed the same when I logged into the portal...did you select a date on the "schedule interview" tab? OR did you wait for an email notification?

Admissions sent out an email asking for student hosts so I'm sure they have some on file. Try shooting admissions an email to get a hold of their contact information 🙂

I went ahead and scheduled it right away. There was an email notification of my status change the next morning.

Don't forget to pick your date carefully because you're only allowed to reschedule once. Congrats on the interview!

I liked the way they set up the MMI. I'm not supposed to give anything away, but it was my first MMI and I liked it better than my other traditional interviews. After the MMI, I felt like they could get a good "feel" about who I was as a person. The rest of the day was really laid back. They have students show you around the new med building and the hospital. VCU has a really nice campus, and I personally loved how it was built into downtown Richmond.

+1 I loved interview day and VCU <3 ! I prepared with standard MMI type questions I found online, but the best advice I could give is to just be yourself and to try to explain your thought process as you work through each question.
