just submitted my secondary, OOS hopefully not too late to the interview game :/
btw does the portal status change after submitting a secondary?

It takes a few days but you'll get an email / status update that they received your app and that you're complete. When you're under review, you receive another status update. 🙂

To update, I also received a phone call for II for fmSTAT last Friday!

I am a CA re-applicant with Lizzy M 69 and I was somewhere between screaming/crying internally and jumping up and down at work when I got the call. Received the secondary 7/14 and was marked complete sometime early August. First received a status update around 8/16 saying that there was a change in status, followed by a call from the co-director on 8/26.

Hope this is encouraging for any other fellow CA-reapplicants (*fist bump) Keep your chin up!

As far as I know, admissions hasn't asked the M1's about hosting applicants but I can't speak for the rest of the med students. From what I remember from my interview, they didn't offer the option of staying with a med student host. However, I'd be more than willing to host you if you are looking for somewhere to stay. Feel free to PM me or if you would like any other travel tips (I am also from CA). Congrats again!

Yeah. I noticed that too. They get cheaper as you get further from downtown, but then you lose the shuttle/walking distance. So it's give and take.

There are a lot of Air B&B is in the area that are only about $50 a night. They look pretty good.

Am I right to assume that although a person may not get immediate notification of II invite via email, the invite will come via email/phone after a few days? Or are we supposed to religiously check the portal?

I think they only call for the fmstat program. And as for the email, I received it about 2 days after my portal changed.

Not at all! It's a long cycle and 8/11 is only ~3 weeks ago.

I have had this status since I completed my secondary as well. Now I have "Interview scheduled for ###" but that status is still visible underneath the interview status. The portal seems really glitchy and it kinda worries me that the status is still there even with the interview tab available. I'm probably going to call on Tuesday and will try to remember to post whatever info I get here.

I dont think its a hold, they havent even done a review on us

I took a pretty cold, clinical and measured approach. If you ever talk to people like that in real life being overtly aggressive with them makes them dig in and not listen. Also, They probably look at a lot more than the essay. They probably spend less than a few minutes on the essay.

My response came almost one month on the dot from when I submitted my secondary. But, being a (partially) state-funded institution, I wouldn't be surprised if my review was expedited due to my IS status.

Yeah after re-reading it that's what I figured. I was complete July 18 I think. At least that's when I received the "application Status Update" email.

Keyword: guessing. I wouldn't be so sure. It isn't slim-none or I'd assume there would simply be a flat out rejection. This process is unpredictable.

I got a direct II after the "complete and under review status" & I had just checked my status the day before my II.
