There appear to be no secondary prompts.
Good luck to everyone applying!

It appears there is NO SECONDARY - they are going straight from the primary to IIs, and school would start in July.Space reserved for prompt.

30% discount. NOTE: The discount is not automatically offered - to get it, you have to complete the FAFSA app.Free tuition for inaugural class?
What about updates? Im missing a lot from my primary that I can send supplementaryIt appears there is NO SECONDARY - they are going straight from the primary to IIs, and school would start in July.
I didn't see any mention of updates on their website, but check it out and see what you think! If there's an email address for you to send it to, I'd go for it.What about updates? Im missing a lot from my primary that I can send supplementary
Ok, I didn't see that. They have an Admissions Process and Procedures page (Admissions Process and Procedures - Seton Hall University) that doesn't mention a secondary, and says that a completed application consists of the primary + LORs.What about updates? EDIT: Saw this on their page "Applicants for admission to Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University are required to complete both the American Medical College Application Service application and a SOM Secondary Application."
So I assume this means there will be a secondary. Who knows.
I know right? I saw their mission to increase LGBT curriculum and i was like COUNT ME IN FAM. Also the location on the east coast is right up my alley.Sent an application in yesterday! LM 66
Really hoping this one works out for me. Geographically and mission-wise, this school would be a slam dunk for me if I can get in.
Damn that's rough for a new school30% discount. NOTE: The discount is not automatically offered - to get it, you have to complete the FAFSA app.
why does everyone expect a new school to hand out free tuition like its a requirement? With how competitive the application process is and how difficult the accreditation process is, there is no shortage of excellent applicants. Not to mention, Seton Hall and Hackensack are both premier names with a school in a premier geographical location. I know i would choose this school over a number of other schools without hesitation.Damn that's rough for a new school
It is hard to say, can't really compare CNU to HofstraDoes anyone know what traditionally are the average stats are for an inaugrial class at any new school?

Definitely not a requirement, most new schools do it to poach away strong students from established schools - since most applicants would not choose to go to a new school without more incentivewhy does everyone expect a new school to hand out free tuition like its a requirement? Cooper opened recently, pretty decent comparison, they had a lower overall MCAT, but the GPA was solid.Does anyone know what traditionally are the average stats are for an inaugrial class at any new school?

I've already booked a flight per week between now and May 15. 😉Also bear in mind that the primary deadline is May 15 (according to AMCAS) and they are hoping to seat a class of 55 by July. They would have to interview ~300 people to seat a class that large in a very short span of time. Not having a secondary in this case makes sense. I would think there's a lot of interview days and a (relative to a normal timeline) high chance of being interviewed if you submit here. Buckle in for a very wild ride.
They ask for three and didn't give a range, so I just sent three.Does anyone know the maximum number of letter of recommendations we can send to this school?
There are a lot of competitive candidates in the Tri-State area. The interview season will be a bitch on the Faculty. But if they can pull off interviewing 3x/week at 10 people/day...in ten weeks that's 300 people. They'll probably accept ~150 of those for the Class of 55.

With no secondaries, I'm guessing they're going to do a LOT of screening by MCAT and GPA + service ECs.
Haven't a clue. The wise @Med Ed is very tuned into LCME requirements; I'd love to hear his input.Do they need to fill the class by April 30th?

Sounds like you skipped the step where you "reconfirm" your application. You definitely need to pay the $39.How do we submit the primary? I added the school on AMCAS but I didn't have to pay the $39 for adding. Is that okay?

Right? So many qualified applicants still in the hunt.I doubt they will have any issue getting 55 highly qualified students from just the northeast, let alone the entire nation.
Has this been confirmed from the school? It appears there is NO SECONDARY - they are going straight from the primary to IIs, and school would start in July.
Do you think the stats for the inaugural class at SHU will be similar to California Northshore's first class? or is northshore an anomaly.
of the four that opened during this cycle, two are in high density areas on the coasts, one in the middle but with highly specialized admissons criteria, and the other at a well known institution in the south....all situations will attract top applicants based on stats, but that does not mean they fit the goal of the program.Do you think the stats for the inaugural class at SHU will be similar to California Northshore's first class? or is northshore an anomaly.
What were they at California?
This means we would need to complete the FAFSA prior to matriculating to get the discount, correct? Not before applying.30% discount. NOTE: The discount is not automatically offered - to get it, you have to complete the FAFSA app.
