Anyone received a secondary yet? If so, when was your TMDSAS transmitted to schools?

I've been wondering the same thing. It seems that last year they had started to send out secondaries application by this date. Texas Tech Lubbock doesn't prescreen for secondaries, right?

Same as in threads past, hit me up with questions (preferably tag me or quote a post so I don't forget to check). I can't give many specifics on admissions or the basic science curriculum, but can answer generalities.

In the past they haven't. My app was transmitted mid-May, still no secondary. I'm OOS though, so maybe that has something to do w/ it?

Nope, I'm considering emailing them even though I'm sure they've gotten plenty of emails already. Has anyone here already emailed them? Guess all we can do is wait?

Yeah, I'm sure plenty of people have called/emailed and they know its an issue already. I think I'll wait it out a little while or watch for an update here.

I'm reading on the thread for this past app cycle that they've overfilled and are trying to sort things out, so that might be causing the delay

I received a secondary earlier today as well! For those of you prewriting, the essays are all the same from the 2016-2017 cycle.

Thanks for the update

@gyngyn here are the essay prompts for Texas Tech (Lubbock) for 2017-2018

Is the best way to answer question one to list responses in this format:

Interest
- Relevant info

Interest 2
- Info

For the "medical academics" section, do you all think it's appropriate to list experiences in which we've taught/tutored others?

Does anyone know what they are looking for/the point of the hometown essay?

Also does it have to be the exact city I indicated as my hometown on TMDSAS? Because I immigrated as a child and put a foreign city as my hometown but it is not my city of residence (that I've lived most of my life) in Texas... Which should I write about? Again I feel like knowing what they want out of this essay would help me decide lol

Not sure, but I am guessing they want something that shows you would fit their mission (rural, West Texas, etc), hope that helps!

Thanks. Yeah I'm not gonna worry about it too much. It's such a trivial question that I don't think it's as important to provide a nontrivial response.... lol

3.85 > GPA > 3.70
506 > MCAT > 503
Traditional, ORM, no clinical work/volunteering, lots of research, small non-clinical volunteering/shadowing

August 4th seems to be the only option.

Good luck guys!

Woah. 8/4? So early. Do they not offer alternative dates?

@vivax, those who get their applications in early have lots of chances to interview. Of course there will be more interview dates offered as time goes on. Wouldn't summer be a great time to go on interviews so you won't miss classes?

i'm out of state for most of the summer due to other summer plans (and will be flying back in literally a week after 8/4 lol). but i just read in previous threads that it's not hard to reschedule. but yes otherwise you're right summer is ideal!

To those with OOS II's - do you have Texas ties, and how extensive?
