2017-2018 Tulane University Application

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Thank you! Complete 9/21, green check mark sometime Mid November (not exactly sure the day) and dates available were in January and March.
wow your turnaround was super fast! If you dont mind, how were your stats? Good to hear January is still available

I heard they don't have a second look from a current student, but can anyone confirm?
Tulane doesn't have a second look. Why? Idk, but allegedly, several years ago there was a second look after a long period without one. That year saw serious over enrollment and students attributed it to second look. And rather than accept fewer students, it was decided to no longer have second look. And enrollment has been predictable since.

I recently got the final green check mark-I should be getting a rejection/II soon, right?

Rejected. Green check mark early Oct. submitted 8/28. URM, OOS, LM 68-70

Kind of a weird situation here... Would appreciate some advice.

I was complete for Tulane in July and had an interview in September. I was put on the "acceptance range" (still not really sure what that means... but that's another topic). A couple weeks after this decision I got an email from CASPer saying that my AAMC ID is incorrect in their system and that they were unable to send my results to schools. The only school that required CASPer has already rejected me, so it is entirely optional if I want to send the results to Tulane. I'm assuming that my decision post-interview was not influenced by the lack of CASPer records, although I'm not sure on that.

Do you guys think it's worth correcting the ID mistake and sending in my results? I didn't think CASPer was that bad.. Basically commons sense ethical dilemmas and since I'm a relatively quick typer I felt like I was able to get my point across. I'm just not really sure what sending my scores would do to my chances of getting off the waitlist.

Thanks in advance, and also congrats to all the recent posters who have been accepted! Hope to see you next fall.

I bet they scheduled second look during Mardi Gras, and that was why so many people enrolled. They should do it in July - that’ll turn all those accepted students away. Lol

When did you take your CASPer Exam?

Acceptance range, interviewed 10/2. Tulane was my only hope too. Email was sitting in my junk folder from earlier in the morning.

Quick question. Is there a place to store luggage during the interview?

Sent from my SM-G930T using SDN mobile

Anyone who interviewed in early november hear back yet?
We had the same interview day and nothing for me either. By last years thread it looks like we should be finding out soon . . . but this year people are waiting 7-9 weeks (and more) for the emails. If Tulane sent them on Christmas that would be the best Christmas ever!!

I heard that Tulane sent most of their II's out early this year (or is it every year that they do this?)

I was complete on 8/10 and haven't heard anything since. Is it most likely that I am out for the running for this school because of this though?

Nobody's out of the running until they get a rejection. Hang in there buddy

perhaps it is time for us to declare our defeat

I'm sure somebody has already answered this question, but are the interviews pretty conversational? Anything I should know beforehand? Any advice? Sorry for all the questions. I'm just getting anxious.

The only thing I talked about at my faculty interview was my family... haha. My student interviewer had a set of get-to-know-you questions but my faculty seemed to just want to chat.

Honestly, your faculty interview is very dependent on who is the person interviewing you. Faculty have different questions they like to ask, but regardless of who interviews you, it is very conversational and they are just trying to get to know you. Feel free to PM if you have any questions and happy to help/give advice 🙂
