I agree with me that I am myself. That's who he claims to be.

The hologram is gaining self-awareness!!I agree with me that I am myself.
Yup, no pen and paper. To add on to the other person's reply, 1st bell rings and then you get you 2 minutes to stare at the prompt on the door (you actually take it off a hook). After the second bell rings, you go inside. Third bell rings to signal that it's over. For the MMI interview, do we get to use pen and paper to organize our thoughts?
Has anyone sitting in the:
"Your M.D. file is now complete. The Sub-Committee will now do a review of your application. Once this review is complete, you will receive a status update regarding your profile."
purgatory received an II yet?
Hey, I've had the same status since Mid-July. After speaking with VCU Admissions this week, I was informed that they are interviewing through the end of this week; however, they still have not finished reviewing all the applications. Go figure?![]()

@Dean Mission said that everyone was already reviewed regardless of what our status said.
Do you mean this week is the last week of interviews?
Does anyone who applied to VCU know if they accept AP physics alone? It says the following on their website:
We accept AP and CLEP credit to meet premedical course requirements, if documented on an official transcript. Please note that lab credit will still be required. Applicants may meet lab credit with the lab sections of advanced science courses or practical experience, such as documented relevant experience in a research lab.
I received credit for Physics 1 and 2 at my college and it's on my transcript, but it doesn't explicitly say that it includes a lab. Any help would be appreciated. 🙂
Yes, according to Ms. Simms-Jones, who is the listed contact for status updates/inquires regarding VCU SOM, this is the final week for interviews.
They mean this coming week - I am in your boat too, clearly they saved the best for last! 😉but I'm coming next week to interview?..

And to you!G
Good luck you my friend!
I had emailed them but didn't receive an answer but yes, you're right (I called them the other day). Thanks for the response 🙂You can email yourself tp confirm, but I was in this position for both gen chem and physics (received credit on my transcript for AP Chem and AP Physics). When I emailed to ask, I was told I needed to take the lab credits and so am currently in my 2nd semester of night classes to be able to matriculate fall 2018. I will also note, I tried to plead out of physics citing experience in a biophysics lab and was rejected.
pretty sure it's P/F with no internal rankingDoes anyone know what's VCU's grading system for pre-clinical years? I can't remember from my interview day and can't seem to find a clear answer online
pretty sure it's P/F with no internal ranking
Yea, I heard this too but couldnt find an official link/statement. Anyone have a source for this? Thanks!Yep, that's what it is starting with our class I think. It's sort of nice to not have to worry about grades but I think we're all trying less than other classes have so who knows what our board scores will be.
My source is a current M1 I spoke withYea, I heard this too but couldnt find an official link/statement. Anyone have a source for this? Thanks!
Pre-clinical is competence achieved/not achieved. Tiered ranking begins M3 year.My source is a current M1 I spoke with
Well, due to the insane weather in the east coast and incompetence on the part of the airline, I was unable to make my interview today and I can't really can afford another trip for their last interviews on Tuesday/Wednesday. Oh well. Thanks Obama.
If your airline cancelled your flight, then I think they'll refund or reschedule you? Yeah, I was stuck in Pittsburg and the next flight in to Richmond was Sunday night. I could have driven 7 hours but I had already not slept for 48 hours from being on the 12:30 AM red eye flight. If your airline cancelled your flight, then I think they'll refund or reschedule you? I thought all airlines do that
I would try as best as I could to get to your interview here if I were you, I love this school and the interview is what really solidified that for me
The same thing happened to me. My original flight got cancelled on Friday morning, so I called the airlines and tried to reschedule a flight to land in a city nearby Richmond. My plan was to take the bus the rest of the way in. I’m from the west coast, so I had a connection I had to make in a Midwest city. My connecting flight to the nearby city got cancelled while I was in the air, so I’m now stuck in the Midwest city. At this point I’m weighing two options:I mean they would have gotten me to Richmond.... two days later. Paying for another hotel (couldn't get a refund cause I prepaid on priceline) and flying in two days later and missing more work wasn't really an option

1.) Bite the bullet and just fly back. With this option, I can’t afford to fly back to Richmond on the last interview dates.
2.) Try and reschedule the interview for the 6th, reschedule my original connecting flight, and stay in hostels / live on burritos until the 6th.
I’m definitely leaning towards the 2nd option at this point because I really want to interview at VCU. The thing that really sucks about my situation is I had already flown out to the Midwest when all the cancellations happened. Technically, according to American Airlines, I can’t reschedule flights to include an arrival into Richmond and a trip back home without major $$$ because I’m already out here in the Midwest-.-
Moral of the story – take weather warnings seriously.
I didn't get the chance to meet you while I was at VCU so I wanted to say thank you for the communication that VCU has provided throughout this process. I'm sure everyone in this thread can agree that having a responsive member of the VCU admissions team answering questions has really helped to convey transparency and openness.Best of luck to all applicants that applied to the VCU School of Medicine this cycle. Wednesday is the last day of interviews for the 2018 season.
Thus, applicants are moving into an entirely different phase of the season, one which will require -- for some -- picking the best choice amongst good options, going into a waiting period, or trying to understand what happened this cycle. To be certain, gaining admission to any medical school is not easy, but this year was much more competitive than any recent year at VCU. The competition was fierce, and the metrics will reflect that in the coming months.
If you were not successful this year, you must be honest with yourself as to why this is the case. Seek advice from the Admissions Office as to why your applications was not successful. You should be aware that the average matriculant to med school at VCU is ~25 y.o. That should tell you that the majority of first- or even second-time applicants are unsuccessful. Most people have to round out their activities and credentials to be competitive. In other words, don't get discouraged. And, if you are going to apply again, do so EARLY; I cannot stress this enough.
Mahalo.
100 according to the MSARHow many spots are there on the waitlist?
I don't know the answer to this question, but when did you interview?Got put on hold early this morning... Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this mean that I got one of the top 3 scores (in a 1-5 score system) and that people who got bottom 2 scores in yesterday's meeting aren't moving forward? And people who are on hold will hear back on the last date of March 16th?
Interviewed 2/20I don't know the answer to this question, but when did you interview?

Yes that was the portal update I got. It seems like I'll have to wait until the 16th then! thanks for the reply! What message did you get on your portal? If it's the "we won't talk to you except for these 4 dates" one than there's a good chance you passed and will hear back on the 16th. I think there were a couple of people who said they got this and then were rejected a couple days later so who knows. If you're on an official hold, you'll hear back the 16th if you were accepted. If not, then you'll be rejected/added to the waitlist in the coming weeks
I think it is definitely possible. They are taking the best people on their list and it's possible if you were passed over before, that you may now be near the top. However there's certainly no guarantees anywhere. This is probably an unanswerable question, but do we know if getting accepted is really a possibility after already been passed over on the other dates?
@DeanMission Who should we email to receive feedback on our unsuccessful application to VCU?Best of luck to all applicants that applied to the VCU School of Medicine this cycle. Wednesday is the last day of interviews for the 2018 season.

As someone who interviewed late in the game, was passed over on the March 16th date, and am now talking to you as an MS1/MS2a, ab-so-freakin'-lutely you can be accepted after being passed over. VCU has its fair share of waitlist movement -- I know from personal experience. =]This is probably an unanswerable question, but do we know if getting accepted is really a possibility after already been passed over on the other dates?
