Do you know of people who got in the next day or without a call?

I got a call the day after, but it was due to something silly and not the norm.

For those of you who get waitlisted, there is traditionally a lot of movement, especially for those who remain in contact with the admissions committee. I would estimate that 20-30% of my class, maybe a bit more, came off the waitlist, and certainly some of my good friends.

Rejected just now post-II, that really stung I sent a letter of intent and everything..

Accepted students: has your portal updated?
I think mine updated the day after I was accepted, which was last Friday (MSTP). I am sure it will update soon to reflect the decision! Especially since they also have info about revisit (where you have to actually click to accept the acceptance and get revisit info).

at least I have an exact record of when I saw Inbox (1)

Post ii R, pretty tough. It’s been real, good luck to all still waiting and to those who make it to the WL.

Interviewer was FE; maybe should have realized it was a bad sign that I never saw his name last year or that nobody got a call from him this year

So to summarize... I didn't get a call yesterday, but didn't see anyone else get a call from my interviewer either, didn't get a post-II rejection email this morning, and obviously didn't get a portal update.

What fresh hell is this???

I’m in the same boat. No one got a call from interviewer last year.

For the people who have received portal updates- do you fall in the beginning of the alphabet? Trying to find some rhyme or reason

WL - would it be weird to send another LOI..? I already sent one in Feb along with an update lol

Hi sorry if this is annoying of me to ask, but did everyone who got waitlisted have this wording in their update? Do they say the highly regarded applicant thing for everyone that they put on the waitlist??

"... I am happy to inform you that you are a highly regarded applicant to whom we would like to offer a position on the waitlist."

got the same thing. generic message i guess

WHEW finally got an email at 11:15 and waitlisted. I'm so happy actually!! I was shocked to even get an interview haha

what a wild ride it's been columbia gang

f my subscription to MSAR expired, does anyone still have access and would be willing to post the waitlist stats and information?

Typical number of waitlist positions per cycle
"The number varies each year"

Number of acceptance offers granted to applicants on the waitlist
"Not Provided"

Waitlist procedures and information
"The waitlist is not ranked and remains open until the first day of class."

lol.

WL. The past two days have been incredibly stressful and discouraging. I thought I’d be stronger and handle this well, but I was wrong... it hurts... quite a bit. My heart almost feels like it got physically heavier. But moments like these force me to reflect with a wider scope. I’m not participating in this arduous process so that I can slap a fancy school’s name on my diploma. I’m not doing this so I can show all my family/friends/facebook how impressive I am. I’m not doing this to prove something to myself—or anyone else. I’m doing this so that I can one day serve my future patients through the impacting role of a physician. So although it hurts, I encourage those who didn’t receive good news to spend some time in similar reflection. Yes, it would be a wonderful privilege to receive the educational experience that Columbia offers—but you do not need that to ultimately acheive your mission as a physician.

Congrats to those accepted

Waitlist as well over here as well. Would almost have preferred an R as it seems the waitlist is massive

get lit for my first post II R!!!!!! hope this isn't a sign of things to come for all my other decisions coming out in the next 2 weeks lol

this might be a stupid question but hitting accept on the WL letter just accepts our spot on the WL and nothing more binding, right?

Please everyone do the right thing and decline your spot on the waitlist if you have another school that you prefer (and have an offer at).

Thanks!
Retweet. And if you're accepted but don't intend on matriculating, please don't wait to withdraw your acceptance. You'd really be doing a wonderful service to an anxious individual on the waitlist 🙂
