Thank you! I was complete 8/2, and I'm OOS.

The available interview dates were 1/29, 1/30, 2/5, and 2/6.

Haha I had been checking my phone for an II every morning but haven't gotten one since October, so I wasn't really expecting anything. This was a pleasant surprise.

Congrats. I got one this morning as well! This is my first of the cycle! The ice is starting to melt! So pumped!! (Complete with arrival of CASPer 12/6, IS)

When does next round of acceptances go out?? interviewed Thanksgiving lolol

(Didnt event get waitlisted or anything yet lol)

It'd be nice to get an II here since I like Philly so much. I feel like it may be my CASPER score since VCU rejected me in less than a month and I haven't gotten any II's from CASPER schools 🙁

They only looked at CASPER post interview here!

That is not a good sign for me. This was the only CASPER school I got an interview at..😢

Wait...I was fairly certain I messed up CASPer until I got this interview this morning because I’ve gotten no other II’s from CASPer schools. But if they look at those scores after the interview, I’m starting to think they’ll regret inviting me to interview in the first place 🙁

I believe at my interview the admissions representative that was doing the overview said if there was something wrong with your CASPER results you wouldn't have been selected to interview

I really hope that's true!!

Smh so they do look at CASPER before II.

Why would a school with tons and tons of applicants only look at an applicant’s CA$Per after giving out an II? I’m very skeptical of that anecdote. It makes way more sense to use CA$Per to decide who to invest time in to interview. If adcoms are inevitably going to look at it, then why not look at it in an earlier stage in the process?

Well idk if the schools who recently implemented it will be using it in the decision making or just want to collect data for cycles down the road. To be like "our class had avg X GPA, Y MCAT and Z CASPer so lets take data for a clinical performance and see if CASPer is a good method to predict ones performance". Ive heard some schools wanted to use it for that reason but then others use it as a screening tool when they get 74937290745 applications.

But in that case it seems like those adcoms wouldn’t even factor CA$Per into their current decisions because they don’t understand its utility. They may consider it though if the score was alarmingly low alongside a bad/socially awkward interview

Hi everyone! I'm really excited to interview at Temple this week! I was wondering if someone could tell me a little about the closed-file interview? I've never had one before, should we expect MMI style questions? Or is it just a normal conversation?

One is open file, the other is blinded. They are both fairly standard, no MMI. The closed file one was more of a conversation for me.

Anyone know when their interview cycle runs until?

According to Temple's website, when selecting the Class of 2021, they interviewed 811 and accepted 437, for a post-II acceptance of 54% (in that year).

I would say Temple’s post-bac students make up a reasonably large number of their accepted students due to the preferential treatment they receive from LKSOM during the process. So for a non post-bac, I bet acceptance rate post-II is much lower. Also, because of the new AAMC rules, more applicants are going to be waitlisted (and accepted off of the waitlist) than in previous years. LKSOM was the only school I interviewed at which made it a point to tell applicants this on interview day.

What’s the postbac enrollment?

Do you have evidence to support that LKSOM gives preferential treatment to it’s post-bac students? I’m hesitant to believe that.

I'm fairly certain post-bac students at many (if not most) schools are given preferential treatment in the form of guaranteed interviews, conditional acceptances, etc.

Does anyone have any information regarding when the next round of admissions decisions will be released? Is early February still all the information we have?

I am pretty sure it is going to be next week. Possibly on a Wednesday which is the day it was in December. Obviously I an neurotically waiting for that day

I interviewed on 1/15. Do we think I'll be in this next batch of admission decisions?

Does anyone know if Temple will tell you where you sit on their waitlist? Curios if emailing the admissions office for some detail is worth it...
