2018-2019 University of Louisville

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
According to MSAR, 502 was 10th percentile for accepted OOS applicants.
Yeah I saw that too, thanks! Do you know if they send secondaries to applicants that have a MCAT and GPA above a set criteria? Or is the application reviewed before a secondary is sent?

My bad. I am not sure, but the MSAR states that it is sent to selected applicants. Not sure if this is based on stats and/or app screen

Could someone post the secondary prompts, please? Thanks!

Same as last year: 2017-2018 University of Louisville
There are also five additional optional sections (500 chars each) to list part time employment, full time employment, shadowing/volunteer activities, high school extracurricular/leadership activities, and college extracurricular/leadership activities.

If last year’s thread is indicative of the timeline for this year, II’s may start going out tomorrow.

Hopefully that is the case! As I've done more and more research on Louisville, it's quickly becoming a top choice of mine.

OOS. Submitted secondary 7/20 and still haven't gotten a confirmation email, but when I log into the portal, it says submitted.

Same, submitted secondary and payment on 7/23. My portal says finished and payment received but no confirmation email.

I'm an IS applicant with a 3.73 GPA (upward trend) and 508 MCAT. However, my MCAT breakdown is 128/126/124/130 (no clue what happened on bio that day). How much is this bio section going to hurt me?

After scouring many med schools and their MCAT breakdown on MSAR, I cannot recall seeing the range go below 125 on B/B and P/S. Occasionally CARS will be lower, sometimes 123 for 10th percentile of the class. For IS last year at UL, the 10th percentile of the class had a 125 in B/B.

But do you think I'd get rejected pre-interview just because of that? I'm at or above their average in every other section and have a strong application otherwise. I've also done well in my biology classes. I just had some timing issues that day with the biology section.

For the supplementary application, how did everyone add in their pre-reqs?
Are you just adding one course to each section or are you adding all classes in that section?
So, for example: there are 2 different options for general biology, are you putting all the bio classes you have taken in one option and leaving the other one blank or are you just adding one class to each? Also, again using General Biology as an example, are you only adding General Biology to that section or classes like Genetics, Microbiology, etc. to that section as well.

Kind of really confused about such a simple thing.

This confused me but I eventually reasoned that they want one class in each section so they’re all filled out.

I'm not sure, to be honest! Maybe the best thing to do is call them and express your concerns. I know the DO school I got accepted in pre-screens for <125 in sections so I guess it depends on what the school prefers. I scouted 50 MD medical schools based upon statistical competitiveness and regional favorability (IS/OOS). Out of those 50 schools, there are 5 schools with a 124 as their 10th percentile in B/B.

You can definitely still get in somewhere, I'm just saying B/B, P/S, and P/C seem to be the three sections they like to see strength.

Did you guys list your foreign travels or write in paragraph format? Also did you write what that experience taught you?

Same thing for hobbies and interests.

Reading previous posts it seems like people wrote it in paragraph format and talked about what they learned or how they grew, but it says to list. So idk if writing in paragraph format would be going against what question wants and makes it seem like I can't follow simple instructions. Lol

I used paragraphs on all questions except extracurricular activities.

So the "Document Upload" section asks for AP documentation. I logged into college board, and none of my scores show up because they archive all scores that are over 4 years old... Has anyone run into this issue? If so, what documentation for AP scores did you upload?

When your secondary was complete, did you get an email right after? I've been complete since 7/20 and I have not gotten an email, but when I log on, it says submitted.

I submitted on 7/25 and got the complete email on 7/30.

Everybody else’s inbox dry as a bone like mine? Haha complete on 7/14, got the email 7/23.

Yep I’m IS 3.89/512. Makes me curious how they organize the apps for review for II.
My friend who got an interview yesterday was complete 7/31 we were chatting and we wonder if it is a bottom of the pile vs top. So we are at the bottom bc we submit early 😳 he has 510/3.9 too with a low CARS

Wow that would be a bizarre way to do it! When were you complete?

When they say instructions for schedule are on WebAdmit, does that just mean to secondary portal? I don't see anything on there as of yet
Friend with interview already told me they will send a second e-mail with a link. So just sit tight for that 😀 Congrats!!

Also just got an interview! Submitted 8/5, got an email saying file complete 8/8, and just got the interview invite today!
Within the last few minutes? I've been obsessively refreshing my email since people were saying they got II around noon.
