Interviewing on 2/28.
I know if I get the A I will have to pay deposit in a certain timeframe.
What about the matriculation packet? I’m going out of the country after the interview.
The deposit will be easy to pay but is there a timeframe for completion of the packet? Obviously I know it has to be before the semester starts but I’m just wondering if someone who has been accepted and received a packet can answer my question.

thanks
After getting accepted, you will have 14 days to pay the deposit. Most of the matriculation documents are due by April 1st and you have to place an order for your medical equipment by July 10th. I believe they are flexible with these dates though, you just have to let Mr. Willis know.

thank you! I am not stressing it yet since I haven’t even interviewed yet.

do you know what’s due by April 1st? Immunizations will be quick as I have most of them.

Immunizations can be done as late as November. You just need to have the documents in the packet handed in. Background check and medical equipment have a deadline of may april/july. Your award notice for financial aid needs to signed and physically mailed just make sure you allow enough time for it to get to ACOM if you're out of the country.

Has ACOM mentioned what tuition for the C/O 2024 will be?

How do we submit the matriculation package they emailed us? Does anyone one? Can we just email it back?

Some of the forms have to be sent to specific offices, like the financial aid forms. So read each page you signed because it will tell you where it needs to be sent.

After being accepted will there be a separate email with instructions on how and where to pay the deposit?

I believe so. Mr. Willis told me the email will be sent out Monday. The 14 days to give the deposit starts Monday.

Anymore movement on the waitlist?

I saw last week 2 people posted on here that they were accepted off the waitlist, so it looks like it may be starting to move slightly.

How do we look for housing. I haven't been able to get into the facebook group for some reason
Message the admin. I had to before she added me.

This is the “on campus” housing:

There are a lot of apartments in Dothan too.

Anyone attend the event for minorities the day before your interview? If so, what is dress code?
If you mean the black history month panel on the 27th, it'll be business casual. Dress shirt/polo + slacks for the guys.

Magnolia Preserve is pretty popular. I think there's 30-40 of us living here. There's also Highland Hills, but that's kind of far from school (~20-30 mins).
Couple students got together and rented out a house, you can find those if you look up "Dothan Buy Sell Trade" on facebook or go on craigslist.

On campus housing is pretty convenient but its a bit expensive compared to rent nearby.

Is anyone else interviewing on 03/13? What does everyone think the chances of getting a spot is now? I was just recently complete (the school didn't for some reason get my updated LOR list) and got an interview within 2 days of sending an email. I really really like the school and I just want to be able to get myself into a realistic mindset as I prep for the interview.

Thanks again!

They were still interviewing for seats this time last year. So pretty good I'd say. The interview is pretty relaxed. Just know "Why ACOM?" "Why DO?" and "Why medicine?". Although some of the faculty like throwing out curveballs.

Hi! So I'm currently on the WL, but I will be planning to drop out of my current SMP (2 years M.S. and I was in year 1). In the off chance that I get an acceptance, will the fact that I dropped my SMP program possibly impact my matriculation to the school? I have a BS in biology with all of the pre-reqs.

Interviewed yesterday! Hoping to get the acceptance phone call next week *fingers crossed*

That's a good question. Maybe ask Mr. Willis. A lot of students may not be under the same boat to answer that question. I hope it works out for you though.

Does anyone know if the dean usually approves the Admissions Committee's recommendations? I was informed by Mr. Willis today that I was on the list of applicants who were recommended by the committee and that he was going to meet with the dean tomorrow morning for the final decision. I would like to think that the dean does usually approve the admissions committee's recommendations because that would make the most sense.
Did you call to ask or did he call you? Mr. Willis told us the committee meets Monday, and the dean will approve recommendations on Thursday. It’ll be hard for me not to call earlier than Thursday to try and gain some intel haha!

I emailed him on Wednesday and he told me I was one of the committee recommendations. I got accepted on Thursday through email

During the interview they’re usually super honest. My friend interviewed in February and said that they stated in the interview that there were plenty of seats left. So they’ll probably tell you! I would assume there’s plenty of space because it’s such a big class.

Anyone recently get off of the interview waitlist - hold. I have been on since about October and was wondering if it makes sense to reach out.

Do any current students know of any gyms that give ACOM a discount?

does anyone know is the ShaDO event is going to happen this year?

A couple do. The only one I know for sure is the living well fitness by Southeast (the hospital) for $15 a month. The other gyms are pretty cheap too.

Dothan Athletic Club looks nice and they have student membership at $20 a month

I've been on an II hold since August. Sent an update letter and still haven't gotten an II 🙁
