Stats? How did you think the interview went? I'm really hoping for a waitlist spot as I clearly did not get the A after my 8/23 interview ;/
I really enjoyed the interview! Ive had several since and CMU has been by far my favorite. It was my first ever interview so nerves are always there, but I definitely think it went okay!

Does anyone know the minimum grade for CMUs prerequisites? Or if there is one?

Can I DM to ask you some questions? This is my first interview too!!

I don’t know a direct answer to this, but it is safe to say if you got an interview then they are interested in accepting you.

if you want to ask me any questions, I will answer what I can as well.

I noticed on the interview packet it doesn't explicitly say where to meet for the interview. I am assuming it is at the college of medicine? Can anyone confirm this? thanks in advance.

I've heard this school has a lot of waitlist movement. Does anyone know when that occurs? Is it around May?

Still haven't heard back about an II, submitted secondary in Mid August. Should I be worried?

Hey guys, just joining. For those who went to the interview on Friday, without breaking your confidentiality agreement...how did it go?

I went and i was actually thoroughly surprised with how much i enjoyed my interviews that day. I was called last minute to interview so i had no time to prepare. I just went in and was my self and i felt like it went super well. This was my second interview and my first time ever doing MMI and it was great and you will do great as well. Just dont stress about it and dont rehearse answers and be yourself and have fun!

Wow! Thank you for that feedback, it really helped calm my nerves. I guess I'm just overthinking everything....typical pre-med...lol.

II today! In-state, worked at their residency affiliated-hospital for almost two years, secondary complete end of July, Interviewing 11/15.
Congrats! Do you mind sharing your stats??

Basically, they’re exam weeks with other educational (wellness, diversity, etc) sessions thrown in.

Do you know if Central Michigan has a home hospital or are all the rotations away rotations at community clinics?

Only the family medicine rotation is at the rural community clinics, and that rotation also has ED, surgery, and specialist rotations built into that 6 month period (you’re not spending all your time in a clinic).

Your core rotations (OBGYN, Surgery, Pediatrics, Psych, Internal medicine) and electives will be at one of the home hospitals, depending on where you are based out of (chosen by a ranked lottery). These would be Midland hospital, saginaw’s Covenant and St Mary’s, Detroit’s Ascension St John and others.

For those Accepted, how long was the wait before finding out? It seems a few people waited about a month, does that sound accurate?

Some people waited a week, some days, others haven’t heard in months. Unfortunately the process hits differently for everyone.

oh okay! I haven't been accepted yet but fingers crossed lol
Hey Ash_T, your stats give me hope as I have similar ones. Do you mind if I ask if you're a URM and what DO school you have been accepted to?

Thanks very much and good luck to you!

Keep in mind the SDN people active on this thread are part of a tiny fraction of the 6000-7000 applicants that CMU gets every year now...

You're telling me SDN isn't a representative sample of the entire application pool???

lol
